Is the £129 price difference because you are downgrading to single channel??

What memory is on the graphics card?

as it looked like a good deal too, but this is by far better (I think). Nearly upgraded to XP Pro but decided against it. Dont need it really! :)

graphics is onboard and therefore accesses RAM memory, so your 512 may be a little less :)

Can I report you for a daft post? It is a FACT that Dell are recalling 4 million laptops with potentially dangerous batteries. OK, I'm suspecting Dell will have got a better supplier now and the new batteries should be fine, but the post was hardly scare-mongering, was it?

Cheers Clasics. I just hope that I have helped someone who might have a problem and "Save them some money" so they don't go out and buy a new battery.
Surely that is what the site is about!

Bought one from dell outlet yesterday for 500 quid, can i cancel that and order this? I should be able to cancel without penalty right?

Thanks OP -- great tip. It's brilliant to have good bargains like this posted here for a wider audience, even if they were listed elsewhere first. (Probably polite to give credit though!)

Can't thank OP enough for this post. Have been searching for a cheap decent spec laptop for two months. Had resigned myself to having to do without one and then this post came along. Thank you so much.

Have a go, if it's too late then you have 7 days by law to send it back, just don't use it, or you could refuse delivery of it in the first place.

Hasnt even been shipped yet, and seeing as there was no delivery charge via outlet technically they should refund all £500. Ive ordered one of these £300 aswell, lets hope im not left with £800 worth of goods!

this seems like a decent enough offer - but on a laptop I'm not sure I'd be happy reducing the warranty as much as I would on a desktop.

Its the service you ar reducing - not the Warrentee isnt it? You still get 1 year as thats consumer rights isnt it?
