Bad post reported, scaremongering !
Can I report you for a daft post?
It is a FACT that Dell are recalling 4 million laptops with potentially dangerous batteries. OK, I'm suspecting Dell will have got a better supplier now and the new batteries should be fine, but the post was hardly scare-mongering, was it? I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0 -
Ukpotters
It is not relevant, Renault Meganes are being recalled due to a brake fault, since they are not Dell 1300's there is no point in mentioning it !
This is a good deal and there is no need to worry any potential money savers with tales of problematic batteries, of which I am well aware and which DO NOT affect this offer.0 -
Derek_Duval wrote:I'd hurry, because it could be a pricing error, £129 discount for 512Mb less ram seems too generous, Dell have made this mistake before & corrected it after a couple of hours. It's by far the best laptop deal I've ever seen.
i don't think it's a pricing error because on one of the other deals upgrading from 512mb to 768mb is £82

hehe...Just had an email from SVP where they recommend this fantastic offer fro £329.00
Dell Inspiron 1300 Laptop Delivered for only £329 inc VAT!*
Intel® Celeron® M Processor 380 (1.6GHz, 1MB Cache, 400 MHz FSB)
256MB RAM (533MHz DDR2 SDRAM) Windows® XP Home Edition
40GB (5400rpm) Hard Drive 14.1" Wide XGA Screen
Internal 8x DVD/24x CDRW Drive Integrated Direct AGP Graphics
I've not seen a Dell laptop at this price since around March...and then it was a celery 1.3 processor, half the memory, half the hard drive and a 14" screen. Damn good price this...if they honour it

However ukpotters.. I would hardly believe Dell would sell new laptop with these defective batteries!!
Street, not saying that Dell are currently selling new laptops with defective batteries. Just pointing out to Dell owners that that might see this thread about Dell that there are some problems with some batteries on some models.0 -
this seems like a decent enough offer - but on a laptop I'm not sure I'd be happy reducing the warranty as much as I would on a desktop.0

What memory is on the graphics card?
I bought one - just wondering though. Was going to go for this one

as it looked like a good deal too, but this is by far better (I think). Nearly upgraded to XP Pro but decided against it. Dont need it really!
