Sata hd not recognised in BIOS

You could still clarify what you've tried, but I'll assume that our "everything but a new machine" is the same as your "everything but a new machine".
Drive is knackered, at the minimum the PCB need replacing.
That info was posted Yesterday 1:23 PM
"drive isn't seen on POST, drive isn't seen using windows install disk.
Drive HAD errors on it, errors were "fixed" by hdd regenrator, drive no longer seen. "
and Yesterday 3:11 PM
"its a problem with the HD, and I need to find a way to see it. If I can see it I can try and fix it. POST is trying to find it, I can tell by the amount of time taken to POST."
The fact that during POST the drive is being accessed, but not being authenticated shows a problem with the drive itself. I know the problem is with the drive. Broken drives also don't change BIOS settings.
I also know there WAS a problem with the MBR as basically that is what HDD Generator was trying to repair.
Bad sectors would not cause the PCB to need replacing. I know the drive has erors on it, whether that means the drive is knackered, I don't know.
Thats why I was asking for suggestions as to how I can get the drive seen in BIOS.0 -

drive has been tested on everything but a new machine. SATA is NOT the problem, the cables are not the problem, the problem is with the drive.

!!!!!!, if you know everything better then why do you ask here?
Why don't you just try the HDD on another computer? It would be the FIRST thing I would try before damaging your data even further on a faulty controller. If it doesn't work then you can proceed to the next step...0 -

No it wasn't, you still haven't stated whether you've tried a different cable, sata port, power supply, motherboard, etc. You've implied that you have, but for some reason you seem to be avoiding saying it. Is it because you know better, and it's the MBR that needs fixed?"drive isn't seen on POST, drive isn't seen using windows install disk.
Drive HAD errors on it, errors were "fixed" by hdd regenrator, drive no longer seen. "
Because it was on the way out, and now it's screwed.and Yesterday 3:11 PM
"its a problem with the HD, and I need to find a way to see it. If I can see it I can try and fix it. POST is trying to find it, I can tell by the amount of time taken to POST."

No, but people messing around trying to fix things do.
And why does this show it's a problem with the drive? The board tries to see the drive, and fails. That could be the board or the drive. Or a power supply not supplying the right voltage etc.
I also know there WAS a problem with the MBR as basically that is what HDD Generator was trying to repair.
I'm not arguing about there being an MBR problem. I and others have stated that the MBR problem is not what's causing it to not be recognised.Bad sectors would not cause the PCB to need replacing.
No, but a PCB that's on the way out could cause bad sectors, a wrecked MBR etc.I know the drive has erors on it, whether that means the drive is knackered, I don't know.
If there's nothing wrong with anything else, which you say you've worked out, it's clearly the drive.Thats why I was asking for suggestions as to how I can get the drive seen in BIOS.
And people gave you things to try, you dismissed the advice, and now we're in a situation where usually patient people are getting !!!!ed off with your attitude and lack of willing to try things we've suggested, or provide the info we've asked.
If the info you've given us is accurate, the drive is broken. Possibly just the PCB, possibly the entire drive. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
24 posts in this thread, someone is not listening. You goosed it with HDD Generator my friend.
- Kitchen worktop / big hammer / hard drive - I say hit that drive with this hammer - you do !
- Kitchen worktop / big hammer / no hard drive visible - I say hit that drive with this hammer - you say ... what hard drive !
If the BIOS on your machine can't see it and the BIOS on a~n~other machine can't see it - because it can't be seen - bin it!
