    Afternoon All,

Just been to Mr T's with a conditional spend voucher fromthe co-op. Was able to use one last week but wouldn't accept it today as it wouldn't scan (wouldn't scan las week either, but it was cleared with a supervisor and put through as a non-scan). I phoned CS at Dundee from the store and the lady said that they had never accepted any coupons that didn't have Tesco on them!!

I re-iterated that it was a conditional spend voucher not a money-off coupon but she still insisted that they used to take them but hadn't taken them for years!! I asked to speak to a supervisor and was put through to a
manager who said that Tesco policy was that, as a company, they accepted them, but it was down to the individual stoes whether that store accepted them or not. I pointed out that this store had accepted them last week so I couldn't understand why they didn't today.

He said again it was the individual stores discretion and if a store was refusing to accept it there was nothing he could do about it. I passed this onto one of the managers at the store (who was at the CS desk when I
phoned Dundee) who said if it was the stores discretion they would honour it and give me the £2 back. He asked the lady on CS to refund it but she said she couldn't as it wouldn't scan. He asked if there was anything else she could do and she said 'no, if it won't scan we can't refund'. He apologised and said that if the system wouldn't let them scan it he couldn't help.

Any suggestions? I wondered about emailing Sir Terry's office, but I believe he has left and the email link in Sher60's opening post doesn't work.

    TESCO

Only accepts coupons when you buy the product. They also will accept conditional spend coupons from Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Asda, Co-op, Farmfoods, Marks & Spencer and Boots.

    Hi,
I had this same problem last wk with the morrisons cond. spend voucher. I posted it on here last Sat. I emailed Sir Terry's office and I have just recieved this email back.

    Dear Ms ***

Thank you for your email addressed to Sir Terry Leahy, our Chief Executive, to which I've been asked to reply.

I was concerned to learn of your complaint and I sincerely apologise for the upset and inconvenience that this has caused. Please let me assure you that your experience is not indicative of our usual high standard of customer service.

I can confirm that we do accept Morrison's conditional-spend coupons. We also accept Internet coupons providing the customer has bought the product and the coupon is in date. Our staff should have known this and responded accordingly. I am so sorry.

Your comments have been discussed at length with *** ***, our Store Manager at *** ***. *** has fully addressed your complaint with his staff and further training has now taken place where necessary. I'm confident that if a similar situation should arise in the future that it will be dealt with very differently.

I'm sorry that you've had cause to complain on this occasion. Although I'm unable to alleviate the annoyance that this matter has already caused, I'd like to try and make amends. Therefore I've written to you separately enclosing a £15.00 Tesco Moneycard with my compliments.

Thank you for bringing this to the attention of our Chief Executive.

    Kind Regards

    Customer Service Executive

So it is defo worth emailing a complaint!:T

    Am feelin very happy now!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
