    Hi x_raphael_xx
I told her 'there is nothing you can do right now to change the situation, so why worry? It's just causing more stress. If you need pins you'll need them.' She could not stop worrying thou.

That is it exactly. Look to see if there is anything you can do about it and if there is nothing you can do about it do not worry about it. Worrying about it will just increase the stress level.

Your Mum would be right to be concerned about going in to hospital, bearing in mind the things you can catch while you are in hospital but there is no point worrying about it.

As you found out with your Mum, explaining it to someone is one thing getting people to do it, is something only they can do and it is not easy to do.

Incidentally, being concerned or worried about something is a stressor and stress is what a stressor causes. It is difficult to prevent stressors from happening but people can learn to control the level of stress they cause.

When your Mum found out she may have to go into hospital, she could have suffered from shock. As I understand it, there is little you can do about shock apart from sitting down and resting. Hot sweat tea is supposed to be good for it.

Well what a difference a day makes, yesterday was all hunky dorky and now I'm in a fix!

The last two nights a driver has come into the office in the quiet early hours bringing a cup of tea for me, the first night he invited me to a concert he is giving (he plays the piano very well) and asked if I was bringing my boyfriend. I thought nothing of it and assumed he just wanted bums on seats (as it were).
Last night he asked me to the movies! It threw me but I managed to mumble something in the negative.
I think he will probably come in again tonight, how do I tell him I'm not interested without embarrasing him?! (Puts on a Davith Thomas voice) I'm gay, you see.
    Gah!! Help!!
Oh why do these things happen to me :rotfl::rolleyes: why do I only attact men!:o

Sigh...AND I've lost all my nescafe bean tokens, I had about 19 saved up, and decided for my bro's girlfriends xmas pressy I was going to do her a 'cosy night in' hamper, with a mug, hot choc, bath stuff, and a bathrobe from nescafe. I need 21 beans and I only have 4 now. BulletWeep_A.gif

Oh what's a girl to do!!

    Hi x_raphael_xx

When he comes in tonight, tell him that you looked in your big pink fluffy diary and your best silk dress will not be back from the cleaner in time.

Seriously thou, tell him that you have checked your diary and you have a date with you new girlfriend. Then say, I had not mentioned it before to anyone at work before because I have only just started to go out with her. So I would rather people at work did not know anything about it at the moment. Next week tell him she dumped you.

You have to say it as though you have not realized that he has asked you out on a date. He will then think you have not realized that he was asking you out on a date. That way you will have defused the situation without upsetting or embarrassing him.

    Best of luck.

I think I will just have come out and tell him!

The problem isn't that I'm uncomfortable with my sexuality, I am gay and don't care who knows it, I'm happy with who I am.
My problem is I find it very hard to take compliments, especially face to face, my step-dad was praising me on the phone the other day, about how I've changed (for the better) and I just choked up.
I really don't know how to take it! I just sort of clam up.
Someone asking you out I guess is kind of a compliment, as they are obviously saying your good looking, or have a great personality or whatever.

It's a compliment alright. But you can duck fairly easily if you like by saying that you don't want to get involved with people at work.
  • Ooh thanks James, that's a good one, I might use that!
(True as well as I don't mix with people outside of work.)

  • Well, he wasn't working so didn't come in last night, and I'm not on nights again for a while, so I've got a little breathing space!

Also the £200 transfer has gone thru, so my balance on my credit card is now £1130.
Thats £500 I've paid already this month, and only £45 has come off.:D
I need to pay my monthly water bill tomorrow (£28.05) and get some stamps. And I'll prob need a little more food shopping come the end of the month, but that shouldn't come to more than £15.
And I reckon I can pay another £600 onto the card before the end of the month! (£200 from my friend who owes me money, and £400 from wages and extra shifts)
Which means, that hopefully at the end of the month, if all goes well, my balance will be around £700, a thousand pounds paid off!!!yupi3ti.gif

    Fingers crossed all goes well!

A thousand Pounds paid off will save you about 75p a day in interest. :)
  • Nooo! My first few pages have gone! BulletWeep_A.gif Oh well, hope they get it sorted soon, at least the thread hasn't gone!

Everything is going well at the moment, apart from the money that's owed to me, still no contact from Friend 1, and Friend 2 is aparently still waiting to hear back from the loan people before giving me the £200.

I've got most of my christmas stuff sorted, all that's left to do is...

*Dad ~ Make some shortbread. Find a bottle of Asbach. Found! Waiting for stock to be delivered.
    *Granny ~ Order xmas hamper.
*Friends baby ~ Buy £10 voucher.
*Best friend ~ Make her present (I know what I'm doing, but as she's started posting on here I'm not going to say!)
    *Write cards.

    Hi x_raphael_xx

At the top or at the bottom of the page, where you click to go to a different page, click on the < next to page two.

The real question is why do you have a page 12 when there is no page twelve and why do you have a more pages symbol > when there are no more pages.

Anyhow, I have already finished my Christmas shopping. No grandparents, no parents, no children, no significant other and some years ago, I lost touch with my very best friend. She moved and it got a bit one sided when I was the one doing all the travelling.

Still, looking on the bright side it will be a very cheap Christmas, again.

If I had my way I would hibernate a week before it and wake up a week after it. Scrooge had it just right, Bah Humbug. As for not having any Christmas spirit, just call me Ebenezer.
