ahem  I currently have a grand total off...£11 saved :rotfl: only just opened the account!
On the plus, thanks to extra shifts at work (48 hrs last week & 53 hrs this week...*yawn*) I just managed to pay £250 onto my credit card, and pay back £150 to mum!

I was shocked when the minimum payment went down from £30 ish to £3-so I will check that out, maybe it is a typo, hope not!!
I was just wondering if you managed to get anywhere with this. The interest rate doesn't affect the minimum payment. It's the overall balance and what percentage the company want as minimum according to your T&Cs.Leason learnt :beer:0 -
Unfortunately my online cc statement doesnt give me APR % or minimum payments etc, so I will have to wait until my paper statement come thru the post. (No good looking at previous one as now they have altered APR)
I think that although the minimum payment has dropped to £3 ish, the interest is still being charged at around £25-£28.
Will keep you posted.
On the plus, my AdSense link on my online blog has just earned me a whole 5p!!!:D

Oh well, my suggestion of using your savings was obviously not as bright as it seemed! But if you can get some overtime, that sounds like the best way to start getting your debts down. Is the £150 back to your mum on top of the regular £100? If so, would she be happy for you to reduce your monthly payments for the remaining 7 months, or do you prefer to bite the bullet and pay her off asap?0 -
The £150 was payment off mums loan (£650 to pay!)
I think she will be happy with no less than £50, but I'd rather keep the payments up to £100 a month and get it over with! If I get short a couple of months I'll reduce it to £50, but Im getting loads of extra hours at the mo so hopefully I can keep it up.Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

I dont have any children, and Im not entitled to any tax credits
Its not all bad thou, I was aiming to have £500 available on my CC by the end of Sept, so I could get my car back on the road. But I've decided that taking the money out for my car would feel like being back to square one, without anything really to show for it. So I have now decided to keep my car off the road until futher notice, and chuck it all at my HFC loan 2, as it has the highest interest (£1199 left to pay at 28.5%.)
If I squeeze every penny out of my account this month I reckon I can pay this off the beginning of October!

My mum lives 130 miles away, my dad 200 miles away, and now my brother has moved 275 miles away!
Also I live alone so don't have a partner to drive me around!
Understand where you're coming from, but I'm going to keep the car. It wouldn't fetch much anyway!Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!
