I love having them around, think all offices should try it, they are a great de-stresser :)

We have dogs in our office!

Well done on your plan -I've not read the whole thread, just wanted to say well done on facing it and also having a fun personality (your antics while the loan increased made me chuckle even if didn't exactly help your loan balance!)

We have managed to save £24000 in the past year. Part mortgage (our only debt), part in pension, part in sharesave. However, it was tough and we are both on pretty good money. Mind you we have children as well! I'm just fedup with banks after the credit crunch and want to clear the mortgage so I never have to deal with them under pressure again!

What you must not do is stop if you don't actually meet your target - you will still be getting closer whatever you pay off.

I totally agree with this way of thinking Kez, I hate them all!

Top news on the £50! I wish we could have dogs at work, that would be awesome! We had goldfish but my work mate used fly spray and accidentally killed the fish :(.

Ps I expect there to be a borneo countdown by the time I get back, after all that will also be my debt free countdown ;)

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

    Thanks Kez.

Well done on saving so much!

I think that it's highly unlikely that I will achieve my target. However, it has shown me what I can achieve if I really put my mind to it, so I will definitely not quit till it's done.

Then I'll need to keep that momentum as it'll be save, save, save! Planning on a years travelling with OH, probably the year we're 30.

Saving will be nicer I'm sure though, much better than seeing payments eaten up by interest!

    As requested - 116 DAYS! :D

I did a bit more sorting through things on Sunday (with a manky hangover!) and found my wall planner.

I had that on the living room wall last year, planning my travelling with flights, where I had to be when, and when payment was due for various things, made me sad but made me smile remembering things too. This time last year I was on my way to Heathrow, next stop Zimbabwe!

I also couldn't believe my shifts I'd kept track of on there - I remember working a lot but couldn't believe that for a good six months I'd been averaging 100 hours a week!

OH asked if I was going to keep it as it's memories. I almost did but then decided things need to be moving forwards so in the bin it went! :)

Hi moneytroubles, thanks for popping in!

Do you have a diary too?

I think working lots of hours as helped me along, the extra money really has been so useful.

However, I wouldn't recommend working like I did before I went to Africa, I don't think it did me much good life wise! :)

  • Yeah I do have a diary! Im on about my third one now, cos I have little relapses where I dont come on for a while and then lose my current diary lol - Whoops! But I am determined to be in it for the long haul now :)

I've had a little browse on up your income and looking into party planning! My friend is also the manager of a pub and has asked if I want any hours in it, but im really scared of bar work, i just think I would be rubbish at it lol xxxx
