Thanks Woo, it definitely does look much less scary broken down!
Sat staring at the grey outside my office window and remembering what I was doing this time last year... I had just kicked off my travelling with a week's horse trekking in Mimizan, the weather was beautiful and I was galloping down beaches and riding through pine forests...*sigh*
I WILL do something like that again once I am DFDebt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
Did you know how to ride before you went out there? I saw your pic's on FB, it looked amazing.LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

I did already know, I've been riding bout 18 years now and worked in a stables before as well.
I got quite back into teaching riding out in Zim, and wanted to do some volunteer teaching with the Riding for the Disabled when I got back, but decided it really wasn't feasible till I can afford to work less pub shifts
It was really nice being told I was a good teacher out there, apart from when OH visited and I had to teach him as well - was just a wee argument then!
You may have seen the pics on FB of us swimming the horses in Zim - well I'm on the horse, OH is just swimming, in the end my attempts and getting him and horses to get along failed!
Really must put up my pictures from the trip - I've put up none of my own, just been tagged in other people's!Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
Couples teaching each other how to do stuff is rarely successful. My OH's attempts to teach me skiing when we first went involved taking me to the top of the mountain and then screaming at me to snow plough down, followed by get them f*cking ski's back on, when I had enough of falling over and cried!
I then went to ski school, way more fun - unfortunately I had a female teacher and not some hot French Instructor!!!!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

My OH tries to teach me how to drive , ahem, I've been driving 9 years now, he has been driving 3! He seems to think because he has probably covered more miles that it makes him the better driver! Obviously I disagree, especially given the state of his work van :rotfl:.
You all seem so well travelled! I've only been to a few places, ah well, I can change that very soon :j

Same here for most of my debt!
I wouldn't change anything I've done like that because it was such a great experience but I also think it would be even more fun doing it when you know it's all paid for. (Let's pretend I've not booked Borneo! Shhh!)
Keep saving the way you are Jody and you'll be DF so soon and knowing you probably already saved enough to travel too!Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
Pay day today! :j
£50 sent to MBNA as that's what I had left out of last months money. Just waiting over the next couple of days for my DDs to go out and then will make a plan of attack with the remaining moneyDebt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
Thanks girls! Up until I left school I had only been abroad once
, we just didn't have the money when I was a kid. I haven't done too bad in the last 3 years...been to Madrid, Barcelona (free trips with work), Tunisia, Cuba, Devon and Egypt. I really fancy Hawaii too after seeing Adams pics :rotfl:.
Definately going to have a few years of trips once it's all paid off!
