It is wierd - starting to feel a bit more real now!

I fly out on the 11th Feb and land back at Heathrow on 10th April, a day earlier than I thought which is good, I thought I was going to be a loner on a plane of my 27th birthday, now I'll probably be in bed asleep, knackered after two months in the jungle followed by a 22 hour trip home! :rotfl:

    22 hours OMG! I find 4 hours a challenge it's so boring!

  • Umm...I hate to be the misery guts all the time with negative comments (sorry!) but it seems to me that adding something to your original total is completely defeating the point of having an original total, it won't be true at all! You made the decision to go on the trip based on your own reasons which is obviously a totally personal decision that you feel is right for you, but by not reflecting that decision in your figures it implies that you aren't as ok with the real implications of that decision as you have said (i.e. adding to the debt which is what you're doing however you want to look at it)....again, sorry to be negative, I just think you should leave your original total as precisely that, an honest reflection of what you owed at that time, and show that honestly in your figures!

Btw, I totally agree with the comment that someone else made along the lines of good for you for taking on board the less positive comments (like my own!) with good grace, we're all just trying to be helpful and despite my comments I really wish you all the best with it all. Just wanted to share my thoughts on your last post anyway, feel free to tell me to b****r off if you like!

22 hours? I think I would kill someone, nine hours was bad enough going to Cuba :rotfl:.

I see what Cloudy is saying above but knowing the naughty person I am, I probably wouldn't even add it to my debt figure at all, I would just ignore it so I think it is very noble of you to add it in and work on it.

Ps...I was thinking about your travels whilst I was doing my washing up and in my head I referred to you as Becsicle......I quite like it, it might just stick you know :D

    Hey guys,

been off sick and no internet at home still (don't get me started on the Sky man coming all the way out only to tell us we can't have Sky!) so till we sort out separate internet then nothing!

Luckily the longest part of that 22 is only 14 hours - I have a break when I change planes which is good! Longest flights I've done is the 11 hour ones to and from Joburg. I know what you mean bout wanting to kill someone Jody - I must admit to taking nicotine gum as that helps!

Toss up between the worst two flights was the 8 hour one to Kenya - first time I'd flown on my own - next to a drunk man who kept dropping things on me, getting up to pee every five mins, and trying to have a very loud conversation with me cause he had his headphones on, whilst on the other side a very loud woman sang and clapped along to whatever she was listening to OR the very long flight to Dominican Republic where the couple behind us had a row as he accused her of touching his hand luggage, he kicked the back of my seat while he stropped (yes, a grown man!) before sitting on the floor with a blanket over his head refusing to speak to her! How I wish I was joking! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I have put the flight to Borneo on my MBNA card which was empty before that. As there is the 58 days interest free period I am aiming to pay this off within that time, which means I have to have done it by the 17th Nov, wish me luck!

I know it doesn't make the starting figure accurate but I have added it in otherwise I can't see how much I have paid back which will be really disheartening :(

Right, will try and catch up with all diaries today! :D

    Hey Beccie

Lots of positive thinking and you will definitely get it cleared by the 17 November. Good luck x

I know what you mean about adding the trip to your original amount, I would of done the exact same thing. You have to do what works best for you, if thats what will help keep up the motivation then thats the way to look at it, there's no point depressing yourself and risking developing a 'sod it all' attitude!

    I'm back :D

I'm shattered though! Left New York about 12 hours ago and just got home! The flight out to Hawaii was about 26 hours in total, including transfers, so I know what a long flight feels like. We had to go London > Atlanta > LA > Hawaii but fortunately we got there at night so we could sleep LOL. China was also about 20 hours or something after the transfer in Dubai.

Adding my good lucks for the 17th November too :)

Sorry to hear you haven't been well :(, what's going on with Sky? Sounds like a nightmare, it took them about 4 weeks to get our broadband sorted out, luckily now I have unlimited net on my phone so I could still get on!

I am sure you can get it all paid back by the 17th November! Are you still getting shifts in the pub? I turned up at 5pm last night which is my normal time but according to the new rota that no one knows anything about, I should have turned up at 5.30?!? The landlady is useless, she never tells us anything at all

Thank you, feeling better this week, although have a manky cough still, which I know as my Mum keeps telling me, it's my fault for smoking! Will be nice when it's shifted though so I can get back to the gym.

We had a load of faff with sky cause of the whole flats and communal dishes thing and had to get a seperate compnay out to do it, who when they turned up said they couldn't. So now we'll have to be with Virgin instead but OH doesn't want broadband with them just TV cause of download limits, so he's gonna get it from O2 (cheaper for exisiting customers) so waiting for him to sort that and Virgin. It's also taken ages to get Virgin to call us back to tell us we can definitely use them! The saga goes on...:rotfl:

I'm definitely gonna try to hit the target by then if not sooner! :D

I am - did six hours there yesterday, my hangover was so bad my hands were shaking when I took the money from people! Finished at six and was very happy to get home. That's so annoying if she doesn't tell you, you could have had an extra half hour at home

Wow, think you win on the long flights thing - I had no idea that the journey to Hawaii took so long, bet you were glad for the (relatively) quick trip home from New York.

I think cause I live within 45 mins of Heathrow and Gatwick I've also forgotten that for some people the trek begins with just getting to London before anything else!
