    Hi Beccie,
I thought I’d pop over to say hi. I’ve been reading the last few pages of you diary and the Borneo trip sounds amazing!!! I probably would have advised you against going, but I can certainly see why you’re taking up this amazing opportunity!!!
In some ways I think deciding to go away was probably a harder decision then deciding to stay, because you’re fully aware of the financial implications of the trip and you have been working so hard to bust your debt.
I hope you have amazing time - just try your best to keep within budget and hopefully it won’t set you back too much.

Hi Claire and thank you :)

Was wondering where you were, hoping you're ok as your last post to your diary was a bit down xxx

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack, did you miss me? :D

I tried to reply on my phone when I was at college on Thursday but I managed to unsubscribe instead like a doofus!!

Well I'm not surprised to hear you are going and I can't say I blame you, I know if it was me I would probably have to go! I've spent the last two weeks forcing myself away from holiday websites as I am so antzy to book something :(. At least it's still a way off and you have time to plan and save etc so hopefully cost will be as minimal as possible in true MSE fashion ;)

Well done for taking all the comments - positive and negative on board as well, not everyone takes time to acknowledge the comments they don't want to hear so good on you hun :).

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

    Morning all!

Moved into the new flat on Saturday! :D

I absolutely love it and am so happy with it, must be the nicest flat I’ve lived in. When we looked round it we were really taken with the size of the place and the high ceilings (it’s a massive old building that has been converted) the only thing that made us hesitate was that it was a bit on the shabby side. We decided in the end to go for it anyway thinking if we gave it a good clean it would help. We went in on Saturday to find that they hadn’t told us they were going to but the whole place has been redecorated and looks fantastic now. It’s made all the ornate (and I thought a bit odd) ceiling decorations and daedo rails etc look really elegant.

Only disaster is that the sofa doesn’t fit! It’s one of those big corner ones, one sides about three seater size and the other part is about two seater size and it breaks down into two pieces. When we chose the place we thought great the living room is big enough, didn’t account for getting stuff round the corners! The two seater bit went in fine but not the other bit – I insisted they weren’t pushing it hard enough. After knocking a big whole in the wall I admitted defeat. Also the door frames were still abit tacky as they had only been recently painted, so then there was a massive streak of white paint across the dark brown sofa! :rotfl: Luckily the three seater part fits in the kitchen and looks a bit quirky but I actually really like having it in there, it’s proving quite sociable already, OH is slowly coming round to the idea!

Luckily they have left the remaining paint behind from decorating so we can fill the hole in and touch bits up with the right colour paint. And white spirit sorted out the sofa.

Means we’ve had to put the dining table in the living room instead. It’s next to the window and as we’re top floor means it overlooks the communal roof garden. Felt very civilised sat there eating dinner last night! :)

New bed that was a moving in present from OH’s parents was also delivered on the Saturday and is lovely and comfortable.

So despite the slight hiccup all is well. Don’t think I’ve moved ever without some sort of minor disaster! One of the best one’s was when we got my flat mates bed wedged completely in the communal hallway, half way up the stairs. No-one could get in or out of the building whilst six blokes attempted to take this bed apart armed with fluffy pink srewdrivers as that was the only tools we had to hand.:rotfl:

So, all in all, very happy right now!

How was everyone else’s weekends? :D

Of course we missed you! :D

And I most definitely will try and do everything as MSE as possible. If anything it's given me new energy to keep tackling the debt so that's good.

And thank you, it was good to hear all sides of it, knew that there was no way everyone could agree with me! :)

New place sounds very nice! You must have a large kitchen to have a 3 seater in there too LOL.

I really want to move to a bigger place, but the cost down here for that is expensive, and I like to keep all extra cash available for debts :D

    Hope you settle in well.

Yay to the move!!! Glad it went 85% well, we have a big brown corner sofa too....great minds and all that ;). We didn't buy it until we had moved in and I made OH measure it like 20 times so I knew it would fit through the door :rotfl:.

Hope you are enjoying your new bed (that sounds rude but I don't mean it to!) :D
