New place sounds very nice! You must have a large kitchen to have a 3 seater in there too LOL.
I really want to move to a bigger place, but the cost down here for that is expensive, and I like to keep all extra cash available for debts
Hope you settle in well.
It is a large kitchen! Our new flat is £750 a month which is the average for a 2 bed round here. Costs here don't seem to be based on size but more proximity to the station. Think that's cause there are a lot of commuters cause we are only 45 mins from Waterloo.Your flat sounds lovely.
Hope you will be very happy there. I love a mini disaster, they help give you lovely memories.
Enjoy!
Exactly my opinion of disasters!Yay to the move!!! Glad it went 85% well, we have a big brown corner sofa too....great minds and all that. We didn't buy it until we had moved in and I made OH measure it like 20 times so I knew it would fit through the door :rotfl:.
Hope you are enjoying your new bed (that sounds rude but I don't mean it to!)
Unfortunately I already bought this sofa ages ago, this is the one I always whinge about cause I'm still paying for it years after!
And I am enjoying my bedDebt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
Your new place sounds lovely Beccie. Did you already live with your OH?
For some reason it wouldn't let me include this quote in the post above!
I did but before I went to Africa he had moved into my flat and then when I got back I moved into his so this is the first place we've chosen together which is nice.
Thanks guys for all the messages.
Busy day today - I'm using flexi time to take a half day so that I can go do one of my cleaning jobs, go get my hair cut and then do another one of my cleaning jobs. This way I'll still get home at the time I normally do but with nothing else to do other than crack on with the unpacking. Boxes are beginning to annoy me!Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -

For a two bed place here it's about £800-£900 a month, depending on size. I'm on the seafront so I only have a smallish two bedroom flat. Still, we don't need the extra space, would just be nice to have it, but it can wait, it's not a priority. My rent has gone up £100 a month as I agreed to pay more with my payrise to help with my partner who doesn't earn a great wage.
Agggggghhhhh two days until my holiday:D

Wow, expensive where you live! Nice though that you are giving her a hand by paying more. Must be great living on the seafront too.
Might have asked before but where do you live?
Yay for the holiday! You must be sooo excited :TDebt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -

Wall is all sorted now, thank you!
Still very, very happy with the place.
So, a few things.
Today I booked and paid for my flights - got them for £700 which I am very pleased with. I know I can't whinge as I made the decision but is a bit depressing to see the total go up. So I have decided to add the cost of the flights (and will add the cost of the project when I pay) to my original debt total, so that I can still see my progress if that makes sense? I know it's not the most accurate way of doing it but it helps me!
Just had a phone call from the agents - they are paying us £25 compensation as they were things they had marked as grubby on the inventory and I sent the amended one back saying filthy. (We had to clean the kitchen before we could put our stuff away). Wasn't expecting anything just wanted to make the point, so am very pleased!
