DLA is paid to the disabled person (or their carer) directly.

Well, you do claim they grow out of it. Last time I checked, you don't "grow out" of being non-verbal.

Are you very very young or are you just a bit not with it today?

I know perfectly well who DLA is paid to. It was you who said DLA is there to pay for damages caused by disability, hence the question/

What is "Non Verbal"? You make no sense.

    I know that.
Example of what I refer to.
A man is on the dole and doesnt want to work because hes lazy claims the dole. He has to sign on every other week and he payment is small.
But over the next few weeks he finds a nice little money site that has loads of threads on it about what illnesses people have and how much money they claim etc.
So he thinks to himself, "Im having some of that....look at how much more I could be getting"
    He then feigns illness.
Hence, he is workshy and claiming DLA!

The link I posted has nothing to do with the bus pass given to you by your local council. I have both.
Thank you. I had a feeling the woman on the council desk was lying to me . That is going to be very helpful to us. Doesn't solve needing to pay something but at least it will be less.

Looking at some of your replies, it seems as though you have trouble reading other people posts and are confused of what is being asked.
Some of your replies dont make sense.

As for it "not being that simple"...yes it is my Dear, very much so.
Where do you think the government gets its ideas from? Mostly they come from some experience of the matter in hand.
There are 100's of people who "put it on" each and every day. You would be surprised!

Explain why so many people on here ask about appeals? Why so many get turned down, despite having care and mobility needs?

I think you will find that applying for DLA & saying you have a certain disability & have problems with a, b & c doesn't mean automatic free money.

They write to your GP/specialist/pyschiatrist to back up your claim or everyone would be receiving DLA.

I think SH is referring to the fact that you said some kids grow out of autism which isn't true as it's a lifelong disability.

A child with autism grows up into an adult with autism as I should know being an adult with autism.

Do you claim DLA for your autistic child?
I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

No, not all children will have Autism for life. There are numerous variations that children can and do grow out of to a point where the symptoms are not noticable.
You can't apply your circumstances to everyone else.

I know exactly how DLA is claimed, awarded (or not), appealed and paid.
There are 100's of people who walk through the surgery doors every year claiming bad back, for example. Someone complains about it enough they have to be sent to a consultant.
DLA is paid out if a person can convince the DM's they need it, regardless of diagnosis. A large % of claims do not ask for information from outside specialists.

Its a hugh problem, that is why the government are cracking down on it. If it didnt exist as a problem then there would be no need to implement these new measures.
    Malingerers are many, believe me.

Child? I never mentioned I had a child?
ETA. Ahh, I see. I mentioned an example a few posts back "so, my disabled child breaks a £500 vase"

    Many children do.
Shakes head in disbelief, do you even have the slightest idea of what Autism is?
