Are you guys still whining on about how you are going to have to justify your freebie tax payer money by actually proving you are disabled? The nerve of the government

It feels like discrimination or even victimisation, what bullies! They should pick on the lazy !!!!!!s who just don't want to work, but are able to do so!
That is one of the points though.
It is coming to light that some people who are workshy have found out that claiming sickness is an easy way to stay home and the lack of medicals helps them to cheat the system.

And once again.......I think you'll find DLA has nothing to do with staying at home. It is not an out of work benefit like IB or ESA, many people who claim DLA work and the payments help them to do that.

Just a small correction, I use my Mobility to pay for a Motability car although I am registered blind and am not allowed to drive (obviously!). My wife is the named driver for the car.

Yes of course, sorry I just wasn't comprehensive enough :).

I know a guy that has a mobility car, (I prefer to save money and finance "directly"). He actually moans because he has to pay for the petrol for it,:eek:, errrr, as does everydisabled/able bodied person ;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

I think this is a great way forward, it will sort out those who are playing the system.

It has taken me 3 years to get my DLA and I am due for renewal in 2 years time,

I look forward to a medical, because along with Doctors and hospital reports there can be no doubt about my illness.

It will be interesting to see how many people do not bother to renew claims when the system is put into place.

I personally think it's a good thing! Even better if they scrap the horrendous forms and make their decision on a medical instead!

We've been waiting 15 weeks now for a decision on my sons renewal - if he had a medical they could make the decision within 3 minutes of meeting him.

I don't understand how you've decided that some of us aren't really struggling - I'm lucky some days if I mange to get dressed.

    .
If you are struggling to get dressed, doesn't this show that DLA isn't for you.
Maybe you need visiting assistance rather than financial assistance? or am i not allowed to say that aswell.

I actually do wonder how many people spend their weekly DLA money on actual care and mobility needs. - We do for our daughter

OK - So you have the new car on the lease scheme paid from the Mobility component. - Yes we do.

After you have spent the Care Component on adapting your home with hand rails, disabled toilet pans and special utensils -what then? - We visit the hopsital 4 times per week. That's over 160 miles per week just for that. She cannot walk either so she has to go in the car if too far.
We buy nappies as she doesn't understand 'potty training'
    Shall i go on?

You surely don't buy these every week or month?

I am pretty confident DLA is often treated as additional income to spend in the household. - I am not sure...but CERTAIN...you have no idea what you are talking about.

If you read your post back, you may realise what an idiot you sound.

my reading age is of a 12 year old writing and maths of a 10 year old and i passed a-levels dont comment on what you know nothing about often if you have problems with reading and writing this can be helped with a note taker in lesson and in exams

As a teacher for many years I know perfectly well what I'm talking about. You are obviously using the terms in a totally different way from that which is used in the educational world. Having a scribe in exams is not the same thing at all.

But everyone should!! For goodness sake it isn't just a bit (a lot) of extra pocket money

But what exactly is it for? Can you provide a definitive list?

It is for the additional cost of living incurred by having care/mobility needs and it's to help them achieve as 'normal' and independent a life as possible.

Someone might use it for a couple of drinks at the pub rather than sit at home alone every night - but perhaps they feel the cold and the reason they can't afford that is because of the extra heating bills - is their DLA being spent on the pub or the heating?

There was someone on here who mentioned something about going to the pub and got attacked for it - even though they were advise o do it by a professional. (can't remember why)
If you are struggling to get dressed, doesn't this show that DLA isn't for you.

Despite being colour blind and having poor vision, I don't get DLA for this. (I need to change anything up to 3 times a day because I tend to drop / spill food and drink down myself)

Plus, when I was living in London, SS were rubbish - they climed they were trying to get hold of me yet, there were no phone calls, emails or voicemails from them.
