Your poor husband must feel very neglected unless, he is attached to you by a cripple sling.

    You are never off here!!!

Where do you find the time to care for him Angel?

I've found they don't shave quite close enough. Whilst it does mean that I don't cut myself whilst shaving, it doesn't help with the issue of leaving lines of hair on my legs.

try veet or waxing, but honestly DLA for hairy legs?

    I'm allergic to wax.

It's not just a case of "DLA for hairy legs" - bit rich coming from someone who asked on another thread "can I claim DLA for having myopia?" (which isn't even a disability)

Mine was a joke!! I actually do think myopia is a disability, well certainly more of a one than hairy legs.:rotfl:

ETA have you tried sugaring or are you allergic to that too?

Looking after one's apperance is a care need, believe it or not.

Myopia isn't a disability - I hve it and certainly don't class it as a disability and neither do NHS. (because it's corrected by glasses - nerve damage can't be)

I wonder if I can claim for a regular back, sack and crack wax

    stay hairy, its easier.

although care needs like this are all part of human rights. without help i cant wash my hair, shave/wax brush my hair properly.

if i dont have to dont get dressed as it takes more energy than i have to waste. and my god dont get me started on bra's stupid things to have to wear.

with my dla i can get help with these things so my poor husband doesnt have to do them. i want to be his wife.

i cant see council home care helping with waxing and plucking eyebrows and what not lol. hubby washes hair and things but only the bare minimum i can get away with. i know your laughing about shaving but it is one of a long line of things that people who can do them take for granted.

Use your DLA to go to a salon and have it done then.Like the rest of us do.Except we have to use our 'own money'.

There are also some things that wouldn't be ok to prove at a medical. I can't shave without leaving lines of hair or cutting myself. I am not willing to show that at the medical. .

Why on earth wouldn't you be prepared to show your legs at a medical?

i think they mean actually shaving their legs at the medical not showing their legs.
