Spending up in nominal terms. Blamed on debt interest payments (£250,000,000,000 over the Parliamentary term).
Cuts of £30,000,000,000 a year by the end of the current spending round. Capex to remain intact from where it is now. Projects with +ve economic returns will be prioritised and saleable assets will be sold (a good idea IMO).
Civil list: has dropped by 75% in real terms over the past 20 years. No increase in payments to the Civil List. Payments to be audited in future.(!)0 -

Inherited spending plans implied real reductions of 20% in 'non-protected' areas by 2014-15. Further cuts will mean 25% cuts in non-protected departments. Education and defence are non-protected but unlikely to be cut by 25%.0
