i agree with your last point, i personally think there are some people who recieve far too much and there is no doubt that it discourages some people from going out and supporting themselves. there are far too many people working exactly 16 hrs per week to qualify for WTC and childcare costs who could so easily work more hours but there is no incentive because the loss of tax credits means it isnt worthwhile.
a girl in my work came back from maternity to exactly 16 hours per week. She said to one of the other girls who works 35hpw why dont you just work 16 hours as the tax credits will make up the difference!!!

Maybe you should get your facts right before you make such statements ?

I , for your information DO have a disabled child.

I , for your information am almost crippled some days from the pain of my fibromyalgia.

I do not and never would attempt to claim dla for myself as i am always concious of the fact that there are others who are worse than myself.

My daughter as a 16 year old DOES claim dla , but thats HER money NOT mine.

Don't moan about those who do claim it and the associated benefits then!

The 25% cut in the public sector will affect the whole of the country including private businesses as if thousands are made redundant, it will naturally curb their spending power. I wonder if the government has factored this in?

Also there are jobs in the public sector that don't exist to the same degree in the private sector (for example librarians and classroom assistants), it will take time for them to retrain.

Many people chose work in the public sector at a lower rate of pay than in the private sector precisely because of the job security and because they like to be doing something that feels like a useful contribution to society.

Hang on, not all these money for myself. The CTC, CB, DLA is for my son's money as he went to specialist school and some money such as HB and CT is paying housing benefit landlord for my £527.80 a month rent and paying council tax £84.60 a month.

That leave me with £779.60 per month left with paying all bills, foods, insurance and this isn't fun at all. The rest of money pay towards to the landlord for my house rent and council tax because I am lone parent. The son's mother died at birth, we both had difficulties time and often struggle.

Don't compare me with your job salary to my benefits. The law say I am entitled to. So, I am NOT RICH at all. I would rather go to work but who will give me a job due to my disability and the need of carer of my son on his difficulties disability too.

So you have £779.60 left AFTER you've paid your rent? Thats about what I get before tax and I'm not intitled to any benefit ( I don't think). r do you top up your rent with this?

Not having a go at you, more at the benfits system.

Disabled people need to live on more money. DLA isn't income and isn't counted as such.
