JackieG - Try keeping a calorie free jelly made up in the fridge for the moments you feel like something sweet.
Anyone know what the dress code is for a Graduation? Got DS2s on Thursday and apparently my long shorts and a t shirt are not the correct thing to wear!! May have to have a trip to Braehead tomorrow (Yuk!).0 -
Hi Camelot,
I wore a strappy summer dress with a short jacket over it to DS1s graduation ceremony, fairly smart for me! I didnt feel out of place, but its 5 years ago now- things could have changed.
Sistercas-hope you get the bullying issue sorted- hugs to DD.
Been quite hot here today, had to water the garden again-the council is talking about a hosepipe ban in less than 2 weeks.
Ordered my material online today after much mulling and comparing, but have been quite frugal really after checking what I already had,& decided I didnt need that much to make my next quilt.
DS1 came home quite pleased as he was going to ask for a half day on Wed. to watch the match, but they've said if he goes in an hour early, and works through his lunch,he can leave in time.At least he doesnt have to use holiday.
Am hoping for a better nights sleep tonight, was awake at half four for some reason.Hope you all have a good night too.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
camelot - I wore a skirt, blouse and jacket to my DD's.
Sistercas - glad that the teacher is tackling it. You did well printing off the page. These kids won't have expected that.
Have a good sleep everyone - I'm off to bed with my book:p

Evening everyone
Just a quick post from me as I've got to get some sleep, I'm shattered. Just had to post to sistercas.
Sistercas - We had a similar problem at my sons school although he was not involved. The person in question was suspended from school for 1 week. I would really push for something to be done that will get the message home that this is completely unacceptable. I know that the police have been involved in cases like this up here and they are taking this kind of thing very seriously. The police can remove a multitude of information from a computer even if its been deleted. Up here the police went into school and spoke to the whole year group and explained that you can be charged for this type of activity adn that if there was any more of it they would have no hesitation in doing so. Also I would perhaps keep a note of anything that happens as its easy to forget things when discussing the situation with teachers etc. Also on msn if they use that you can set up a chat log which saves all the conversations so if anything is said you will have a record of it. Try to keep your chin up I know how difficult it can be when your child is getting bullied and I felt powerless. Hope that helps a little

jackieG well done you, great effort now its all going to slide off before you know it.
sistercas thats evil, your poor daughter.Kick up merry hell with the school and don't rest until you get some satifaction and apologies to her.bless her I hate bullies and I can remember one particular girl from my school and thats over 50 years ago and for no apparent reason we just didn't get along and she made my life hell for awhile until I stood up to her.But its made me a different person as I grew up hating injustice .Copy the threats and take it to the school and if they don't do anything go to the plods .
meanmarie I actually don't mind cleaning windows as long as I can reach them My DD always says that when I have shuffled off this mortal coil whenever she smells Windowlene or metholated spirits she will think of me as she associates the smell with coming home from school and the house smelling of it.
4711 reminds me of my Mum,that and Yardleys Old English Lavender soap which she always used.
Funny how smells remind you of your childhood or things in your past
I got my half-way marks from Uni today only two more years to go before I finish. This September I start studying 'The Thames from the Source to The Sea' That should keep my little grey cells ticking over during the long winters nights.
School run in the morning with the boys so I'm off to bed, good night God bless all here
