Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for Mon 21st June. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good
Morning. Bright and sunny here and set to continue in to the next weekend. Hate to say it, but a bit of overnight rain would not go amiss. Day off for me and so I shall either go out in the boat or do jobs around here. A lot depends on who if anyone is about to go boating with.
OH is working, Son is getting ready to go to Miami for 2 weeks, others are at school and college.... Wish I had some friends!
Good day yesterday, Beach, BBQ down at Marazion. The sea breeze kept it a little cooler than I would like, but nice enough.
Should get our first cucumber this week as the warmth continues to keep everything growing....
Well have a good day......

Good Morning N9eav & all to follow
No sunshine here at the moment but the weeks forcast is very good :j should be able to clear my washing pile over the next couple of days.
Today will be having a peaceful house, kids at school & OH is at work, seems like ages since I have had the house to myself. Will be in the office for most of it but thats ok.
Had a productive weekend, did very well at the Bootsale yesterday got half our holiday money. Came home and had lovely roast lamb. Leftover lamb has been put in the freezer.
DS has boxing tonight so will be a very easy early dinner of tuna pasta salad. Will make use of the time I have to kill while DS is boxing by popping to Asda, only need a few bits luckily.
Anyway, hope everyone is ok. Going to finish my coffee and have a little surf on MSE, have a good day.x0 -
Morning All !
Wanted to thanks for the support last week i really appreciated it, helped me out so much.
Sorry i haven't been on had a busy week/end, fully loaded with various play things + meeting regarding DS2. DS1 came home on Friday about 3:30pm and he was tanned tired/over excited all at once. The bbq DS2 planned for him went out the window as it was far too cold and windy, so we ended up with pizza hut instead. But i had a 50% off voucher so worked out really well, a whopping £13.05 in all.
Saturday it was raining, gale force winds, felt like winter brrr, yesterday was nicer so we had the bbq then after we saved a few jellyfish. They were all over Saltburn beach.
So todays plan, put cheques in the bank, view two houses and crack on sorting my material out and finish the darn curtains!
Well going have a cuppa and hang some washing out.
Have a god day all x0 -

Sorry, will try & get in here more often!
Today is house blitzing day. DH & the kids have been off for 3 days & we've been busy so nothing has been done.
Have shopping order coming tomorrow so need to clear/tidy panntry & freezer for that as well as do my Flylady list.
Baby has recovered from his pox so can no longer use him as an excuse!
Dies mean I'm back on the school runs though, lol!
Right, no pc till this evening when all my chores are done, so have a good day all!

Morning all,
Looks like a nice day again here :T, I think I will spend some of it in the garden.
I had a terrible night with OH snoring and making wierd bloody noises in his sleep , I had to get in with dd in the end, so not in the best of moods. I need to get dd's old bed put up in the spare room, so i can kick OH out when he starts, There is an old wooden base in there which I need to remove, might try that today.
We had a good lunch yesterday, everyone finally left at 7.30 last night, we sat in the garden the whole time, I have leftover meat and salad, I will do it for dinner tonight, maybe with some mash.
House is tidy, so mimimum to do there, will shove a wash on this morning, and do an online shop, will then see if I can tackle that bed.
Hope everyone has a good day xx0 -
Morning All
Work today for me and the boss is back after a week away...so he'll be grumpy! Have to get DS1 to work and DS2 to tech, DD has been fed and is half dressed and I have coffee and am fully dressed!
Kitchen is tidy and I got a fair bit of cleaning done over the weekend which made me feel quite productive - I seem to be in a lot less pain with my joints now that I can take brufen again.... either that or i was that sore last week its just not as bad now!
I got a reduced pack of chinesey things from Mr A - spring rolls, sweet & sour parcels and curry parcels which I cooked last night for the hungry teens to munch on - plenty left so I'll take some for lunch today
Dinner will be something with mince - possibly HM burgers after reading a thread on here yesterday I quite fancy making them.
Kezlou - where abouts are you looking for a new house? I was born in Boro
Have a good day...off to listen to DS1 who is in the back garden 'arguing' with a couple of seagull....I didn't even know he could speak bird :rotfl:Climbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness

Am also on the house cleaning day - try to get it all done in a day so then I can have the rest of the week off!!! WM on its second load, one already on washing line, DW emptied, BM emptied and packed lunches made. OH just off to work so I just have the boys to get dressed and off to school then I can start! Feel really motivated this morning - not quite sure why - perhaps its the extra 3 hrs sleep that I sneaked in yesterday afternoon!!! Tescos delivering later - cheaper than driving there and I have money off vouchers. Huge hugs to all in need xxxxMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Good Morning:)
Looks like it will be another scorcher up here, but the sun is taking a wee bit of time to burn the clouds off.
Work for me today again, we'll see how long I can sit in the chair today;). I also have my WW weigh in at lunchtims, and am looking forward to seeing the scales be kind:D
MIL is coming for tea tonight, which I think will be Couscous, roasted veg, sald and feta. The boys don't eat feta, so they'll have piripiri quorn fillets. I need to make a start on sorting out the clothes for summer. DS2 has outgrown a lot of things, and I need to get chucking, and give what's decent away to friends - I'm suure there's a fair few school jumpers, too.
Countdown to the summer now, they finish Friday lunchtime, I am really looking forward to it, and plan on doing lots of god fun things with them whilst they are off, I have started checking out free and cheap things to do up here, and making plans.
Hope you are all well, and anyone in need of a hug, feel free to have one of mine.

Morning all
Sunny and bright here this morning. Feeling really low this morning and I don't really know why.
Peaceful weekend OH worked on Sat morning then we had a few jobs to do. Had a bbq with friends yesterday but wasn't very warm, sit in our coats as very dull, windy and overcast. Back to work today and have a day off tomorrow as we have nan's funeral, not looking forward to it at all but know that it does need to be done so everyone can move on and find closure. Just hoping that there's as many people there as possible to support grandad and say their own goodbyes. DS1 school has a training day so he's going to childminders all day.
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.
