    Did you sync your iphone with itunes before you started, I did because there was a message recommending it.

    I suppose you have iTunes 9.2?

    i have had a quick search but cannot find anything for 3gs or third gen touch,it looks like 2g,3g and earlier touch's will be jailbreak compatible 3gs owners will need to wait a few weeks to upgrade.

    I don't know where your looking but 3.1.3 for 3gs was done ages ago and the 4.0 beta a bout a week ago 2 versions are now in final testing as the official 4.0 only came out last night and no I wont pm you a link on private sources I don't know who you are.

    Mine took 15 minutes to download yesterday. What I hated about it was all my pictures turned out blurry but it was ok after deleting them off the iphone and then trying to sync again, they are all fine now :)

    So far, I love it! Now everything fits on 2 pages!

    fair enough worth asking,i am well aware the 3.1.3 was done ages ago as i am currently running spirit jailbreak.i just did not find any info saying the 4.0 was coming out today most sites with reference to it say next couple of weeks.

    Yesterday: 10Mb broadband and it took 45 minutes to download. Then had USB issues and spent another 90 minutes getting the damn thing out of recovery mode and updated - and that was just my daughter's iPod!! Exactly the same thing happend with her iPod when I updated it to 3.1

    Looking forward to getting iPhone 4, but hope it has iOS4 preinstalled!!!!!!!

    OMG!! I have just updated my iphone 3g with the new software, and I lost all my contacts. It definately said it was "backing" up the phone prior to installtion. What have I done wrong, and how can I retrieve them???????

    iOS4 is what Apple should have always been on a i-phone, I no longer hate my 3GS :)
