i have two taps outside. wouldnt be without them. godsend for all sorts of things.
make sure you put a isolator valve inside the house. for winter and esp for a house front tap.
you dont want scumbags turning your tap on, all night, just for a laugh.Get some gorm.0 -
:oWe have outside hot and cold taps:o
great for paddling pools and cleaning the BBQ.
I wish I'd thought of having an hot tap outside! What a good idea. My youngest rarely gets her pool out these days just because it's so much hassle. Might consider getting that done now.Herman - MP for all!0 -

See i said this to dh and he thought i was mad i'm sure! it will be hidden behind a wall or in the wall so either way not visble but obviously passers by will know it is there when i'm power washing everything in sight (i do get carried away with the karcher lol!)eventually..we live on a quiet rd though so hopefully ok.0 -

I have an 'outside' tap (it's on the inside wall of my garage between the doors:D) and it's very useful.
Also being 'inside' means it is protected from frost and miscreants.0 -
A woman who used to work for me moved into a brand new house. She went home one lunch time and found the builders building the rest of the estate were using her metered water. Was she  !0

Just to confirm one of the posts above, yes there are strict (but not very expensive) regulations for fitting outside taps. Your water company will be only too pleased to advise you. Your plumber will be aware of them... if he's not, or says they are not necessary, get a different plumber!0
