Hi, I'm new to this forum, but I'd like to help. I run a clothing business and if you let me know what size shoes, trousers & anything else your son takes I can see if I have any in his size. I can't promise anything as I have limited stock for teenagers, but I wouldn't expect any money and I can post them directly to your address.

I hate the ridiculous way many on here say 'thank you' for even posting without spelling mistakes! Thank yous should be reserved for such excellence.

....thank you; such an offer goes far beyond what is reasonable. A truely exceptional offer.

    OMG - how utterly embarassing!

I cried at work today. I actually cried. I wouldn't mind, but I hardly know these people - I've only been there three months.

However - I won the lot!! £188. I still can't believe it. My son now has some nice leather school shoes and TWO pairs of trousers!!

And I still have over £100 left.

I can't decide what to do with it, but it's the best "not knowing" in the world!

Wonderful news so son will be sorted out for school. About your employment, tax situation, accountant can you let me know a little bit more about this so I can help out here. pm me if you like. I don't understand that you are not paying tax at the moment but IR need to be sorted out. I haven't seen your SOA so don't know how much you earn. I think you have been self employed and are now employed. If the business wasn't successful you may find you have tax to be refunded to you.

Even better news that you won it all but, after you have come down to earth, don't forget the above offer of help.

  • Hey Hootie, thanks for the PM. What great news!!! I would have posted sooner, but I've been away. Congrats on winning your lottery, couldn't have come at a better time, I'm sure.

The offer is open ended so should you need anything in the future, you know where I am ;).

wow! I have to say that comes across as very irresponsible. Advising someone to rack up more charges knowing you can claim them back later.

Stop for a minute and think. The banks are rumbling about charging for current accounts. They make money by penalty charges so let's not encourage people to stiff the banks as the costs get passed onto all of us.

(And I'm not saying the charges banks levy are right, it's just the way it is at the moment.

    Any other suggestions, brainbuster?
Like I said, priorities are surely mortgage, food and travel arrangements.
Do you own an Epiphone by any chance or do you have a Gibson?

Im so pleased to hear of your small windfall and your son's uniform is all sorted :j :j
  • Hey, that's a point. I've got a £6 voucher somewhere I'm sure I can spare. Can one use other people's vouchers though?

BTW Hootie, have you signed up to https://www.valuedopinions.co.uk, https://www.homeofresearch.com/Index.aspx, http://www.pureprofile.co.uk/, http://www.ciao.co.uk/, http://www.sarosresearch.com/main-index.html, and http://gb.lightspeedpanel.com/index.html? They all run online surveys (except saros which does focus groups) and pay you for filling out surveys in either cash to your bank or high street vouchers. I make about £300 a year out of them, cash. Not a lot and it won't solve your immediate problem but it's great to have £5 and £10 vouchers dropping on the door mat every few weeks....

    Oh, and I forgot https://www.quickwise.co.uk.....
