traveller wrote:Hi, i've just booked flights using the delta offer for 21st march 10 days 644.00!!! Since we are flying into JFK,would staying at the holiday inn at meadow lands be too much hassle.Wold it be easy enough to get into times square, century 21 ect?I'm travelling with my 3 children 14,10 and 7.Reasonable travelling is not a problem as we are well travelled it's just that i want to make the most of our 10 days-as well as my money, lol.
Hotwire lets you book a room for more than two, whereas priceline only guarantees a room for two.
Look at this site for info, register and ask questions.0 -
We went in may this yr for a week and stayed in the edison hotel on west 46th street. It was literally a couple of steps from times sq but didnt get any noise. The rooms were smallish but they are in new york, still plenty of room for 2 of us tho. clean etc. We loved it, especially for the price and location you couldnt get any better. give them a try, they have their own website but we booked through expedia. they were redecorating all the coridors while we were there but we had no disturbance at all.
If yoou dont fancy the edison my word of advice is not to scrimp on the price if the hotels in an area you dont want to stay in - the location makes everything. i'd never stay away from an area i want just to save a few quid - and thts from a student!0 -
Try this place

It is very central, very cheap, and very interesting. I always stay there; it is bohemian, but fun.0 -
herman2811 wrote:I'd recommend doing a search on venere.com - really helpful website with lots of good maps/reviews, and reasonable prices too (which you also don't have to pay in advance!)
Plus for 4% off, use code: BK5HX8W
Hope that helps
Thank you, just found a reasonably priced hotel in New York thanks to your help. Paying when you're over there is also such an advantage. One thing though, I couldn't see where to put in the code for the discount.0 -
Try priceline.co.uk where you put in what you want to pay per night and what star rated hotel you wish to stay at and try your luck - you can even request specific areas so you know exactly where you will be.
I got a great price on a four star hotel in fantastic location so definately worth doing.0
