Repairing a Roomba - Any success stories?

Options
Hi All,

Has anyone managed to get a Roomba Repaired? I've seen a few threads asking where to get a Roomba repaired since Domtec went into receivership, but not one saying that they have managed to get a repair done? :(

If you have managed to get your faulty Roomba fixed, did you have this done in the UK or did you have to send it abroad? and how much did it cost?

Many thanks for any replies :T

You may need to explain whet a Roomba is.
Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.
  • Hi Phill99, A Roomba is a robotic vacuum cleaner, which can hoover your house while you are out and about. I liken it to an automatic washing machine of the hoovering variety!!!

Ours was still under warranty, and it went to ?Digitech in Germany. We called up the Roomba UK hotline and they gave us the contact details. Last I looked there was no UK based company fixing them. Our roomba came back good as new.

I've had to fix one before - iRobot encourage the hacking and modification of them, so there is a lot of documentation. What's wrong with it, I may be able to give you some guidance.
  • I am happy to confirm that iRobot has launched a new UK based service partner, Repaircare Limited, on the 7th June 2010. Repaircare will be able to assist you with the repair of Roomba and Scooba product purchased in the United Kingdom. Their contact details are as follows:

    Telephone: 0844 557 3751
    irobot@repaircare.co.uk

    Hi, Little Princess.

More repair businesses are popping up these days. I am also one of them repairing Roombas and Scoobas in the US before I came to the UK.

Let me know if you need help.

I think so too. I'll just give advice then.

    Thanks for the info, mate.

  • The batteries went in our original Roomba after less than a year. It was cheaper to buy a complete cheap knock-off roomba (which works just as well) than to buy a Roomba battery pack. The old Roomba is just gathering dust under the stairs.
