Are you flying out of LV?
Only ive been told that the drive from SFO to Vegas is nicer than LA to Vegas
I drove from SFO to Vegas via Bakersfield - and if I remember correctly, it took around 9 hours.
Part of the trip was through agricultural flat areas and once in the desert, it was well... desert!
None of the areas were visually spectacular, but the PCH from LA - SFO is well worth doing even though the journey is longer by avoiding the freeways.0 -
Thanks dpassmore. Any 'must sees' you can reccomend?:heart2: Got Married on 30/4/11 :heart2:

Fly to SFO 3nights (including 1st night)
Yosemite 2nights
LA/Anaheim 3nights (might change that to 2 - want to do DisneyParks)
San Diego 3nights
Vegas 3nights
That includes all the driving. The question I have, are we better doing Vegas and then LA or keep as is.?
I'd keep it as is. Vegas is a great place to end a holiday! Personally I'd only do 2 nights in SAN though and up Vegas to 4 (or perhaps up the SFO leg to 4)
PS I'm jealous!!0 -

It has been a few years, but we flew between SFO and LV, then drove LV to LA. There's not much on the LV to LA route worth noting.
We really enjoyed SFO, LV was good, but found LA disappointing.
We'd done Disney in Florida, so missed it out in LA and went to Six Flags Magic Mountain instead.Dave. :wave:0 -
Thanks!
I went to Disney in Florida in Sept so was wondering if it was worth missing it in LA?
Has Six flags got all sorts of rides? Im a wimp sometimes!!:heart2: Got Married on 30/4/11 :heart2:

I suppose it depends on what you're after. Magic Mountain has lots of big thrill rides (which we liked), so it was a bit of a no contest for us against Disney at the time.Dave. :wave:0 -
I would recommend visiting Bodie if you have time, it was amazing.0

We went because DH & DD love thrill rides, they had a great time but I don't like them and there is nothing else to do.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

Hmmm, I like some but not that big a fan so may miss out magic mountain, OH isnt fussed either way with rides, he will go on thrill ones but not worries if he misses them. Im sure ill find a lot more to see/and do in LA to occupy our time!

I know it sounds like a cop out but it depends on what you like
If The Lion King is as good as the one in London I'd see that (back to Disney again) - stunning
Lots of people rave about Cirque du Soleil but I've never got it,
try asking anything re Las Vegas here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2174765 , between the regulars/gurus they will have seen everything!2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07
