I take it you've tried using Google maps? Stick in where you want to start and where you want to finish, along with any via points. It will give you a route and the estimated driving time. You can edit the route to take in any sights you want to see and save it for future reference.

Thanks, thats the problem - knowing what sites tehre are to see on route! ;-)

For sites to see on your route, try http://www.roadsideamerica.com.

Some of them are a little random to say the least (e.g. the world's largest thermometer in Baker on the way from Las Vegas to LA) but it's a fun site and might give you some more interesting ideas for places to stop to break up a long journey.

We have now changed to this:-

Fly to SFO 3nights (including 1st night)
Yosemite 2nights
LA/Anaheim 3nights (might change that to 2 - want to do DisneyParks)
San Diego 3nights
Vegas 3nights

That includes all the driving. The question I have, are we better doing Vegas and then LA or keep as is.?

Only ive been told that the drive from SFO to Vegas is nicer than LA to Vegas

We havent booked yet, were planning to fly home from vegas and into SFO.

We left out Grand Canyon/ Death Valley, that was really packing too much in and left no room for flexibility.

Is this trip your honeymoon?:D

We may still be packing too much in too but cant see us being able to do it again for a while x

I think we are looking at May/June next year, hopefully the weather will be great then.
We are getting married in New York in October:D

We fly out on the 2/5/10 and return on 16/5/10. :-)
