purpleprincess - sorry your dad doesn't want to see you. Hope you can sort out your differences xx
Had a lovely day at Ragley Hall. Can you believe despite living so near I've never been before. Kids had a lovely time, we are very tired and a bit hot and sticky. Bath time for all tonightMay have caught the sun a little and I forgot my sunglasses so spent all day squinting
Tea will be quick and easy as I am too tired to cook, kids I think are too tired to eat much too <insert slummy mummy icon>
Enjoy the rest of the weekendI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Happy Fathers Day, although a bit late in the day.
Lost my dad when I was 8, but still think of him often. My stepdad who my mum married when I was 17, is lovely and I alway take him a card on Fathers Day as he is 1 in a million especially with ds2.
Stopped at dd flat in the lake district last night as was doing a car boot sale at a local village today, have made £50 in total which I was quite pleased with. Sold lots of books, 1 lady bought 15. I managed to get an electric shredder for a £1 (bargain of the day:j). As dd is going to do another 1 in a few weeks, have left all my junk/clutter with her for her to sell next time.
not much os at home today apart from a bit of washing up, brought washing in which I left out overnight. Uniform for ds2 ironed ready for school. Ds2 come back from his dads, so house is no longer calm and quiet. DS1 also turned up so house may be a little stressful tonight.
Enjoy the rest of your evening. Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take Care.

Despite me having a nice, relaxing day it's not actually going that well!!
1. The bike thing (see my prev post on today's daily)
2. I got the plastic jug out of my fridge so I could have a nice cold glass of water and somehow dropped the full jug which cracked and split all over kitchen floor.
3. The nearest thing to hand to mop it up was the towel I'd just washed and dried!
4. I wanted to quickly defrost some puff pastry to make tea so put it in microwave to defrost for 5 mins but forgot to hit 'defrost' so it started cooking and was ruined! I'd already put the roast veg in oven to cook so had a mismatched tea of roast veg and garlic bread!
Also add to that my BM disaster yesterday morning and the bird poop incident, it ain't going well!
I reckon I should go to bed now to avoid any more disasters! :rotfl:

Wonderful weather here over the last couple of days, today was really warm with hardly a cloud in the sky...if only we could have some guarantee of this kind of weather for even a month each year it would be wonderful.
Had a lovely weekend in Cork with DD1 and DS1 and his family....they took us out to west Cork yesterday afternoon to see the house that they have made an offer on, subject to surveyors report, he is doing that next week....nice spacious house on large site with a beautiful view....DDIL and I have picked out the area she will put her veggie garden. Lovely view and quite near to Clonakilty where they have already entered DGD2 in Gaelscoil ( Irish language school). Don't know the area very well, found a lovely wool shop, when I complimented the owner on her range of wool she admitted to being an addict, who is unable to turn down any interesting yarn offered to her!
Not sure that I will go by train the next time, despite it being free, it took us five hours to get from home to Cork and would have driven there in less than three hours...we'll see.
Back home to discover that Sile has gone missing again....she resents it when we go away, no matter who is here to look after her....she will demand my full attention when she turns up...just so long as she doesn't cart me back any dead birds, rabbits or worse...I know it means that she loves me, but I hate dead bodies around the place....
Took OH out for dinner as it is Father's day...we had starter, main and pudding and finished with an espresso each....feel like a pig and a spendthrift but sometimes he deserves a treat! Back to watching the food intake to-morrow hopefully.
Hugs to all those missing in action, hopefully you will all feel well and able to rejoin us soon. Think I saw a few new names so welcome to newbies too, and hugs to all those who need one for whatever reason.

Aargh, just on for a rant. An acquaintance has decided to fall out with me because of some silly rumour/speculation, and because I don't toe the party line, it seems to have been decided that I must be het for it! Why can't I have an opinion of my own, and still fit in? I'm bl00dy angry and annoyed, I also know that if this person doesn't change their mind, they'll do a good job of letting everyone else know and as I am not loud and shouty, I'll not get a chance to defend myself. It would be laughable if it didn't make me so bloody mad. anyone who knows me well knows it couldn't be further from the truth, too. Stomp. Stomp. Sorry, needed to vent, and I trust you lot to let me do that. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0
