Morning everybody, hope all the Dads have a great day.
My DH hasn't seen DSons yet as they were away overnight-hope they arent too hung over to remember when they get back!Sadly both our Dads are no longer with us,but have been thinking of them, they were both really lovely.

Nice day,may risk the barbecue later on.We are just finishing off bacon ,eggs and tomatoes. The eggs are the ones the farmers wife gave DH,very nice indeed.

We are going to do a bit of tree lopping, loads of branches from the school next door are overhanging our path, making it really dark. Its a wild bit they dont use so it makes it very private, but they don't look after it either- we have brambles trying to grow through our fence.I know I should be very Os and let them, might get a good crop of blackberries, but when you're trying to sell your house,it doesn't create the best impression! The back fence needs mending too,as that panel is where the goals are when they have footie-lets say they seem to miss more often than get it in the net :rotfl:

I feel like making a cake for later, perhaps lemon drizzle or a Victoria sponge, both popular with the menfolk.

Hope everyone has a lovely day.x

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a lovely day. Thanks so much for not giving the Dr Who story away, I will watch it tonight. :D

Had a fab time at the party, and have one very happy boy who is over the moon with his pressies, especially the replica World Cup final football his best friend gifted him. He's like a dog with two tails just now! :D

(Thanks for the good wishes Tappers but his birthday is next Sunday, we just had the party today as his friend's birthday is tomorrow and they finish school on Friday, so we had a joint party, very MSE ;))

We have his project to finish for school tomorrow, so I had to cancel Sunday lunch with gran, and asked her to come tomorrow instead, I have some bread dough proving for pizza and bread rolls and dinner tonight will be pizza for the monkeys and salad for me, really excited about my wiegh in tomorrow, how sad is that? :o

See you all later, hope Lowesy, Diva, Ladygrim, PenPin and all the other poorlies are doing OK and getting stronger. XX

Grrr just had a short wasted journey! My bike chain has rusted over the winter (it lives outside in a shelter and I live by the sea) so I decided to get it repaired. I could have taken to Halfords but decided to use the local bike hire shop 5 min walk away. I emailed the shop to check that they could do it if I dropped it off this weekend. They replied yes, but it may take a few days, and just to drop bike off. Their opening times today are 11 to 4. I get there at 2.45pm and it's blooming shut today and tomorrow according to the note in the window.. Why not put this in the email they sent me?! I may have to use Halfords now cos they are open late weekdays.

I chained the bike up, got an ice cream and sat by the sea for half hour instead :D it was a bit too windy to stay there much longer though.

Happy Father's Day!! I made my dad a lovely Jolly Nation decoupage card but he doesn't want to see me today :( he's in a mood about something *sigh*

I've had a lovely OS day though so far. I've got a gammon joint in the slow cooker, so that will be for dinner tonight with potatoes and then sliced up for sandwiches and salads. I've made a batch of fairy cakes and boyf has eaten 3 already! I've made a huge batch of houmous for the freezer, portioned it up into cake cases so we can just defrost what we need. Cooked up a spanish tortilla with eggs and potatoes that needed using up, that'll be for lunch tomorrow. Phew! Might make some bread later to put in the oven when the potatoes go in, not sure yet though, think we've got more than enough but love making bread!! :D Not that I can eat it- IBS but love the smell and boyf is always appreciative!

Washing was all done yesterday along with cleaning and hoovering etc so a nice lazy day today!! Boyf will do some ironing later and we'll make some lunches for tomorrow, but a sit on the sofa with a couple of episodes of the Pacific are called for I think!

I've hopefully got a job for the summer coming up, filled in my application and induction starts Tuesday, fingers crossed because I really need the work and the money. It's homecare, anyone here do homecare?

Have a great day everyone, I have missed posting on here, think I should make myself come on here a little more :D

    Afternoon all

Back home from the caravan, we have had a lovely week away, and did well for the weather too with only 1 very blustery grey day. Wm on now with all dirty laundry I have brought home!

OH mowing lawn even though I said leave it for today and I would do it tomorrow when I have caught up with jobs but he couldn't stand to look at it - it is amazing how much it has grown in a week. Most of our plants seem to have survived our week away, although I don't think DD has watered them. We have lots of tomatoes, peppers, cougettes and butternut squash growing in pots and have potatoes, rhubarb, cherries, raspberries and blueberries in garden itself so I am glad we do not seem to have lost any.

Hope everyone is keeping well, I have not been able to get on the forum whilst away as internet connection not very good on the site we are on but ((((Hugs)))) to anyone who needs one. Has anyone heard how Diva is???

Right off to hang some washing out and put another load in, back to work tomorrow:( So need to get on top of housework before I go. Have a good evening all

My Dad is not my biological father...but he is my Dad and has been since I was 5. I have seen my bio father once or twice over the years and recently his daughter added me on facebook. She posted today 'happy fathers day to the best dad in the world I love you Dad' and to be perfectly frank it really p!55ed me off! Don't know why exactly - good old fashioned jealousy probably. Anyway spoke to my Dad today and was telling him about DS1 having put his deposit down on a car and that I was going to have to meet the difference he was short. Dad rang back and asked how much that shortfall was and I said around £200 and he spoke to DS1 and offered to lend him the money ..... and that is just one of the reasons he deserves the name Dad :)
