Fishing around a bit for fathers to give cards to, fortunately we remembered DH's father qualifies, so he gets a card. ex-DH died a few years ago, so just keep quiet about such celebrations with my kids. (They're in their late 20s and not both at home so its not too difficult)
Made HM Hobnobs for first time yesterday, in the evening.
Now: Fact 1) Hobnobs made at 6:50p.m.
Fact 2) Only three adults two mini dogs and a cat in the house.
So-oo-o (Sherlock Holmes face on here)
How come more than half of the Hobnobs are missing?
Can any of you clever O.S.ers answer me that?
Today painting shed side and all of front fence Country Cream (Yeah that was a good plan.) Trellis fixing to side of shed, watering and other gardening jobs to do. Dog walk later, and then for school, a week's planning and 5 reports to write. Bacon Butties to make for mid-morning. Organise cupboard and do audit to decide on today's main meal, and meals for the week. Maybe Ikea trip for new base for hob, I'm sick of cooking on a camping stove on the table.
I wonder when DH & DS will wake up. When they do, they can decide who's responsible for the Smellonthelanding, 'cos I'm not cleaning another toilet this weekend.
Charity shop clothes to wash (Then figure out why the size 14 Rohan shorts fit everywhere but the waistband....... Hobnob Tummy?)

Eldest DD is coming for coffee this morning so I had better whizz around with the dyson and flick a duster about, don't want her to think her old Mum is getting sloppy in her old age
.Just going to have a bacon sarnie as I just remembered the bacon has to be used up by the 24th.Might make a bacon and cheese pasta bake for tomorrow as well whilst I'm at it.Dinner at youngest DD's this afternoon and will see the boys for a game of monopoly as well.
Have a good day everyone

Morning all,
Happy Fathers day to all our dads, and big hugs to those who have lost their dads, or not in touch for whatever reason xx
Got my mum and dad, sis and bil, and OH dad coming for dinner, I cooked a piece of brisket and a piece of pork yesterday, both of which shrunk quite a lot, so I had to go out and get some ham, we are having salad and roasted new pots, I am just cooking some beetroot, and I have some asparagus to make a fritatta for the veggies, and some broad beans to make a salad with mozzarella and lemon juice.
We have another two coming for tea and cake at 5, my mum is bringing puddings, although I did buy a sainsbugs value toffee cheesecake and a chocolate fudge cake for £1 each :T
So today will be mainly preparing stuff for dinner, hopefully OH will mow the lawn, and I would like to get little dog over the woods for a long run.
Dr Who was brilliant :T, he will get himself out of it though, he always does
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning all.......................(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
A late start again this morning, its OH's birthday so he had a lie in before his brekkie and cards. We are going out to the Sunday market in a mo for a wander round.
A bit overcast right now, but the sun keeps peeing through, thankfully the wind has dropped, just a gentle breeze.
Nothing mad planned for the day, Roast chicken for supper and I have a lemon cheese cake for dessert. I made a cheese cake when DD and SIL were here. They thought it was delicious dare not tell them it was a tarted up greens mix!! LOL.
Right offsky to get some decent clothes on...............see y'all later.Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Good morning all!
I will have to be quick today because we got 2 little kittens on Saturday and they've decided they would like to learn to touch-type!!!
Overcast heretoday which is a real shame as I wanted to pick my elderflowers for cordial and champagne - anyone know what will happen if I pick them on a non-sunny day?
As it's fathers' day today, we're heading to my parents for a nice leg of roast lamb and I'll take him his bits and pieces round too. He loves feeding the birds so I've got him some fat balls, a bird box etc. and a bottle of something nice and alcoholic too.
I also need to make some more rocky road, lemon yogurt cake and banana bread if I can find a good recipe.
If I get all that done I may spend an hour or two making some soap... Oh and I've got to put the finishing touches to a hamper full of handmade soap, candles etc. for the lady who gave us the kittens.
Hope everyone has a good day and **HUGS** to all that need them.

Morning all
Glorious day herebut a tad windy. I'm off to sunbathe on my sheltered balcony, whilst reading and listening to the radio. Bliss.
OS wise - WM went on this morning and will share my balcony space to dry. Laundry sorted and ready to be put away. If I go to the shops today I'll take some of the recycling to the tip too as it's next door, as the plastic bag is rather full! I fancy cooking something new today so will have a look through some veggie recipes for inspiration.
Have a fab Sunday all!

Morning all,
Have been up since 7 baking for my dad, who now has a HUUUUGGEE tupperware box full of HM gingersnaps :j. OH is away, so posted off his dad's card last week, and will make him some biscuits too for when we see him later in the week.
Was so inspired by my gingersnaps, I used up the rest of the maple sugar I had and made maple shortbread for us.
Will now walk the dog (free exercise - went to the gym yesterday and it hurts!), then sit down and get on with my university work - have a meeting with my tutor tomorrow to review my last placement, so need to get my paperwork in order.
OH home hopefully no later than 6 tonight, so am looking forward to spending a bit of time with him (he leaves for a 6 month tour in 2 weeks), and I'll hopefully have time to tidy up before that, so I can Flylady tomorrow!
I think that's all really - weather looks good so far, so might get to sit out this afternoon/evening, or maybe the tidying will have to wait (it's not that bad - you can still see the floor......)
Have a good day, everyone.

Morning.
Yesterday I had to scrub the shower tray, on hands and knees, cos it's been neglected whilst I've been recovering from appendix removal. Luckily had just enough of the Lakeland 'scrub free' stuff to squirt on but still needed a green pad. It's amazing how the dirty stuff creeps up so fast.
Am hoping to be able to make some cakes from the Eat Me book I bought recently as yesterday I got myself an icing syringe. Also bought a lock and lock carrying box with handle!
Today will just be a walk and then lunch and then off down south for overnight stay for work meeting tomorrow.
As of OSing... using up leftovers today, fridge empty again ready for Wednesday. No use of gas as both back boiler and hot water tank are broken, dead, out of action and never going to be revived. Eventually, after 4 years of rotting away a new system is going to be installed. Wasn't too thrilled with the thought of a combi boiler in the bedroom (only available outside wall as kitchen is on the front and house is listed) but the gas engineer assured me that it was silent and they will build a cupboard around it. Still to be 100% convinced but the surveyor is coming on Wednesday to have a proper look. That means clearing out the shelves in the alcove - a half-finished decluttering job from last year!! :j
As for Father's Day - mine died 12 years ago but I still miss him and even sometimes talk to him. Once or twice even caught myself halfway through phoning himabout some exciting news. Ah well, those who have wonderful Dads will be cherishing them and I will be cherishing my Dad's memory. Have loaded an old picture of him from his army days as my desktop background -he looks rather handsome perched on a bar stool in far away Tripoli, bit like a young '50s film star!
Here's to Dads, wherever they may be.
Couldn't breathe through Dr Who last night... won't be able to watch the repeat tonight but got it on hard drive for when I return. And then will watch the repeat of the repeat on Friday. :rotfl:0 -
