Thanks everyone for posting.
With all the positive responses I may experiment with some of the cheaper brands (and avoid others) when it comes to cooking tuna or mixing it with mayonnaise.
I may try 1 tin at a time before deciding on the bulk buy.0 -

Aldi chunks in oil. or whatever is bogof in tesco in oil, tesco own big tins at 88p are good value and tasty.
Don't like flakes or brine (too much salt & suger)0 -
Used to only buy John West, but when I make a tuna pasta bake I found I was using three tins of the stuff (greedy family...)
Now I buy Tesco own tuna chunks in brine, 88p for a big tin. Great for pasta salads or bakes.
Anyone got any other tuna recipes that are quick and easy to do? I keep meaning to make fish cakes, but life is too short.0 -
anything dolphin friendly and in springwater, ususally sainsburys.
I have just managed to watch Hughs Fish Fight and I have learned alot about fish in general but was surprised to hear that dolphin friendly doesn't mean it is environmentally friendly and that turtles and sharks are regularly caught in a dolphin friendly way.
I know Sainsburys do pole and line tuna that I will be looking into trying soon.'Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves'0 -

Even their Basics tuna is pole and line, and tastes absolutely fine.0 -
I don't buy tuna for environmental reasons. I don't really know why. The quotas are way above the sustainable level. So, I might just as well enjoy it instead of the Japanese, before they pull the last one from the sea.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

whatever s cheapest that is pole and line caught.
Must be in oil as that's what DS's clinical dietician reccomended in order for him to get the full value of the omega's in it. (Sardines in oil with the bones in are even healthier for children!).0
