John West for me.
I will buy cheapo beans etc but I'm just not brave enough to try cheapo tuna. A couple of years ago, I would only eat Heinz beans so maybe in a few more years, I'll be converted! :rolleyes2Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
Whatever is cheapest or Tesco value.
Flakes, chunks or steaks all taste the same to me.

Janepig wrote:Oh god, a tuna thread, my worst nightmare!!! I read the posts just to torture myself. Just the mere sight of tuna sends me rushing to the bathroom to want to vomit. Strange eh? And no-one in work with a tuna sandwich (oh god I'm feeling really ill now) is allowed within 40 feet of me.
However, I like to get DH to make tuna dishes for DS so I buy whatever make I can find in springwater. Although I made the mistake of defrosting such a dish for bubbs when DH was at work so I had to feed it to him.  Barfffff. I had to try and do it looking away and with my hand over my mouth and nose.
And I hate how some people pronounce tuna as "chewna". Grrrrr

Oh poor you, I feel exactly the same way about baked beans! I've tried really hard to like them, honestly I have, but it's the texture, appearance and the smell that makes me feel icky :lipsrseal. I wish I could like them because they are so cheap, reasonably healthy and versatile.
I'm not mad on tuna (although I ate buckets of it when I was pregnant) but when I do buy it I get Asda's own chunks or steaks, depending on how flush I am, in oil. I know brine is healthier but it smells like cheap cat food. I tried the Asda Smart Price tuna chunks and they were really poor quality and stinky, and just the once I tried the Smart Price 'flakes' and even the cat refused to eat it! I guess with some things it's worth paying a few pence more. Having said that, I have a couple of tins of Smart Price salmon (32p) lurking in the cupboard bought with the intention of making fish cakes. I await opening them with trepidation.Swagbucks earnings since 22/05/2012 £135 paypal cash
