Have you thought about train to Reading then the Coach/Bus to LHR, you'd avoid going 30 miles past to London then 30 miles back out and with fiddling with changing tube line (and the most direct is Paddington to Hammersmith then change to Piccadilly Line and I don't think that is very traveller (with luggage) friendly to change at Hammersmith.
I'd seriously consider Reading to LHR bus - here is weekday timetable Reading to Term 5 = 38 minutes - within the hour to all terminals.
