I didn't know about the handset 3 times scenario, thank you very much for that.

I did contact Vodafone customer service, who have applied a nice credit to my account. They then offered me another phone as long as I paid again!!:rotfl: Or I could extend my contract by 6 months and receive a choice of 6 rubbish phones free.

As I have been a customer for 14 years, I am one of those rare customers still on a 12 month contract, they have been trying to change me for a couple of years now!

dont give in they obviously want you to give up your 12 month contract and you'll never get it back

No offence but you sound like you work in a vodafone shop...

I'd be 'difficult' if my phone had to be repaired 4 or 5 times.

I would have been much moire difficult the third time it was "repaired" and this time would have insisted on waiting for a phone and made sure that everyone else in the store was aware of how good the insurance was

Since when was it being difficult to expect firms to fulfill their end of the contract ?

I'm in Farnborough (down the road) and was about to go to the Aldershot store today to get an upgrade. I don't think I'll bother now.

If it's any consolation I've visited quite a few Vodafone stores in the Surrey area and ALL of them have offered very poor customer service. I remember on my last upgrade I ended up calling vodafone direct to complain about the girl who served me in the Farnham store - I was treated like a customer who had walked in with dog pooh on my shoes. The woman who I phoned was very sympathetic and actually told me never to go into one of their stores but to always call them direct If I ever needed anything! can you believe it!!!

Anyway after my phone call I managed get a phone that would have otherwise cost me an extra £120 for free.:j

You can upgrade the phone software yourself using the data suite and supplied data cable. No need to take it to the store or worry about sorting out a loan one.

It is insured I pay £6.95 per month for the privilege of being guaranteed a phone!!,

Unfortunately they couldn't give me this guarantee, as they are a phone shop with no phones to lend!

I always give my old phones to charity.

Mobile phone insurance ain't work a J Arthur.
