Tesco self-service tills take coppers just as well as coinstar machines, just a bit slower.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -

Don't worry if you have to borrow from the kids savings Ellie at least you have savings to borrow from.
Just pay it back a bit at a time if you can't pay whatever you take out all at once.
Make sure you write down what you used it for so that you don't forget.0 -

How about using some of the eggs the frozen onion and the frozen peppers to make a Spanish omelette. If you have any potato left over from one of the meals then slice them in and fry them gently as well. You don't say whether you have cheese or not - that's good grated on top and browned under the grill but you can do without. This can also be eaten cold for lunch next day if there is any left over.
Also have a look on Weezl's thread for her recipe for sweetcorn fritters using your frozen sweetcorn - that would make a filling meal using some of your flour and water for the batter plus they can be eaten cold next day
This takes you up to 27/ 28 June June for main meals so not too many more to go. The money will be in your bank account on 30 June so you would probably be safe to go shopping after 6 pm on 29 June. Also if you look back at your bank statements you can see which supermarket takes its time over putting through a debit card charge - I find if I spend some money in Mr T it doesn't appear on my statement for 2 days - 3 if it's a Sunday. But be careful with doing thisIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
Ellie well done so far. :T. Have you made a list of how many days to ge tthru and what's happening on those days, eg if one of you is at a work conference you might have lunch provided and not need as big a tea, or if kids are going to friends after school and being fed there- that might make your meals stretch. eg tomorow is father's day- are you likely to be invited somewhere?
I liked the idea of pasties for packed lunch though I'd think I'd use up the ready made pastry for them and save the baking ingrediants for the areas where you are really stuck.
Also have you checked cost/trouser pockets, handbags etc. The last twice I've taken Mr S's suit to dry cleaners I've found a note in the pocket and I discovered a tenner in a handbag that I haven't used for yonks a few weeks back.
And don't feel bad if you have to raid the kids savings, yes it's lovely for them to have money for the future but if you need milk and bread for them for now don't beat yourself up about it.0 -
Ellie, I'm not much use when it comes to planning but have you tried the milk and more website? You can opt to pay by monthly direct debit so you don't have to pay upfront? It might be a good way of getting some bread and milk? It won't be much use for tomorrow but they will probably deliver Monday morning, it's the milkman that brings it so it's usually very early too. Think happy & you'll be happy
I :heart2: my doggies
