I've been getting this for while (but only on some sites like Argos, MS etc).
I'm using Firefox, which I've uninstall and reloaded and reinstalled the Java add on, but the error came right back !
I've also uninstalled Java from Vista and reinstall, still no change.
Every page comes up with 'We're sorry, there was an error. Description:Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIStringBundle.formatStringFromName] occurred when we did C24Extension.Overlay.OnDOMContentLoaded'
Any thoughts ??

Yeah, this is a known issue in FireFox. Are you running the latest version? Do a little test... download Google Chrome and see if you get the same error. I'll bet you don't! If you don't its an issue with FireFox which is what I suspect...
Thanks!Just another dumbass with money...0 -

Can you try it with a new Firefox profile?

I wouldn't call it a known issue. Otherwise more people would have it.0 -

I'll give it a try, but if a full uninstall/reinstall doesn't clear it I'm not too hopeful . . .0 -
OK tried that, no change.
when I uninstalled I deleted everything and reinstall fresh, there were no old profiles left.0 -
In the subject line you ask about a Javascript error, then go on about uninstalling Java. These are totally different thing, do not confuse them they are as different as chalk and cheese.
From the error message it is not even clear whether it is due to either of these, it looks more like a server message from the remote server.
For what it is worth, it is most unlikely to be anything to do with JAVA as that is now relatively rare on the internet - most things which used to use Java applets now have gone over to flash. So reinstalling Java will do nothing whatsoever. It may be javascript related, but that is integral to the browser. I suspect it is just bad browser sniffing by the site, and masking as a different browser will probably sort it.0 -

How do you know that you deleted "everything"? Do you even know where your Firefox profile is? It's NOT under "%programfiles%\Mozilla Firefox", it's under %appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox.0
