Hi tronator, I have successfully managed to run the tool without "run as admin", no idea why now and not before, same as adobe. Gremlins in pc today. Now i have used it, I know for future reference your recommendations, very grateful, also to alien. You have been very patient and helpful:beer: For some reason I have never had cause to run as admin, as I am the admin, but, thats what I think I am?

Ive no clue why, but certain programs (Like hijack) require you to RUN AS even though you already are

Put it down to shoddy programming on microsofts part

Maybe you are in the "Power Users" group, which allows you to install software, but not change system files.

I always advise people not to work as Administrator...

Maybe you are without knowing it. It is a user group in Windows like "Users", "Administrators", "Guests", ...

I am the only one that can download, as its my cmp, set with password as admin, guests just use it as me, auto sign on.or guest, if they want to access thier own e-mail, etc.I don,t normally allow anyone on, but, you know kids.?they don,t think security at all, just facebook etc.I,ve been hacked once, few weeks back.

I don't really understand what you're saying. Maybe it's because of the missing punctuation in your "sentences"...

You're saying that you're the only one who can "download" (though I think you mean "install"), but then you say that you sign in automatically? So everybody can install software. That's an accident waiting to happen. Set up a restricted "User" account for your kids (and preferably for yourself too) and don't login automatically.

Sorry, my typing error. I use auto when kids, are not here, then change to password, they sign in as guests. however, there are times I am on and they ask if they can check thier facebook, I say yes. turn my back, and behold, they have downloaded stuff. Chrome the other day.I I don,t like them using it at all , they usually bring thier own and piggyback my isp.Took it off.And it is instal.not download, bit confused yesterday, on comp too long. Thanks

Windows has a feature called "fast user switching" which keeps your session locked in the background and logs in another user. While logged in press Windows+L or go to Start -> Logout -> Switch User.
