Scrap the ideology that remaining a Student until your 30's is a good thing. Get people working, get people manufacturing, using their education once the rubbish taught in schools is scrapped. Save all this Student Loan nonsense. Stop wasting millions on these malingering workshy layabouts.

Reduce overseas aid to countries that are not run by democratically elected governments. Dictators divert funds to allies. Why should we fund them.
'Overseas Aid' doesn't involve us paying country X a direct debit after being signed up by an international chugger, you realise? Right now most British/US aid will be invested in groups opposing government in Iran, Venezuela, Bolivia and the like, rather than handed out in lottery winner style packages to 'good' countries like Kenya and Botswana. Theres a damn good reason for that.0 -

I am aware of that, but I am also aware of the vast sums that do get diverted to the people that need it least.
As for supporting groups opposing government, please note that in many countries, this causes as many problems as it causes. One could point to Iraq, where originally Saddam Hussein received international support, until he became our enemy. My point was about democratically elected governments - countries where people are trying to make lives better for themselves and seek help, rather than replacing one junta with another. There is no perfect solution, but surely we could examine the recipients a little more closely?
Thanks Odette - The upper-class hypocrites who run this country would never let practical real world solutions be passed into law, much less let an ex-council estate kid have a say in things! Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....
