Hello everyone - I'm back from our holiday in Cornwall which was lovely, weather was amazing, lots of walking, going to the beach, laughing with oh and no stress - just what I needed! Totted up expenditure last night and we stayed (just) within budget :j

    DFW things yesterday:
    • made packed lunch for mammouth drive home (it took 7 1/2hrs ) the signs at the service station did make me laugh - the "deal" bagette, crisps and a muffin for ONLY £5 :rotfl:
    • drove between 60-65 mph
    • was paid on Friday so did July budget and paid some bills (if I can get the cancelled festival tickets refunded (the organisers are not responding to my emails:mad:, have lodged a complaint with paypal) then my debt will be less than £1500!
    • paid debt payments & updated signiture
Today I want to be realistic about what I can do and therefore tick off everything (must plan in R&R time :D)
    • [STRIKE]2x hc 1 in 1 to go! ;) [/STRIKE]
    • work out meal plan for week (ds stayed at friend's alot while we were gone so cupboards/freezer still full!), use up things that need to be eaten quickly
    • go to supermarket and get coffee (I cannot live without! being forced to substitute with tea this morning )
    • [STRIKE]Job search [/STRIKE] found 2 I'm going to apply for
    • [STRIKE]do some housework (only 1 hr so need to be strategic!) oh has agreed to do a crazy 1/2 clean so will be doubly efficient :D[/STRIKE] yay did loads in an hour just basics not fridge extra but feeling lovely in the house now :D
    • put up blinds in spare room for foreign student coming next week (received a letter that I have another coming after this one so thats £600! We're planning to have a "free" holiday with extra cash we make :D)
    • List a couple of things on ebay - So far have made £74/£193.10 towards my brake repair fund:j If I get the festival tickets refunded its £114 :j:j:j
    • hm bread
    • make lunches for tomorrow/week
ok that's more than enough! Great to see some new/old posters :j

Josie thinking of you lovely, stay strong and remember we're all "here" for you if you need to get it out.

Fay - how was the concert? You must be so proud :)

Sorry too much going on to reply to everyone but glad things seem bright this weekened for you all! (rachel the job's not all you hoped it would be??) xx

Hey Josie - huge hugs - can you be out when he does the packing, might be easier all round?

La E thanks the concert was lovely and I told her she won the school music cup just before she started to play - so she beamed throughout the whole thing. She's two pals here at the mo for a sleepover - so its happy and noisy here

Happy fathers day to those fathers who are good, those who were good but are sadly missing and those who aren't fathers but act as if they are in real life.

(think that says it all in my life!)

    Today
Teach for an hour this afternoon - then our veggie class is finished
Do some work on my write up
    Store cupboard tea/lunch
Have a gentle drive back to drop of girls when I go to work (Less petrol)
Organise a bit of packing for trip we leave on Thursday
Sort out plants to move to one main place for the lad next door to water them when I'm off
Organise when pals are visiting in the summer woo hoo
    Milk/bread from the freezer
Tie up the bags of doritos etc from last night and put away for another time - no waste :)
Finish off the dining room silly table by cutting out more of a magazine to stick bits on the table - then finish by varnishing - its an old freecycle table and we've 'decoupaged' it with lots of flower pictures etc to cheer it up
Hang up the washing indoors as its grey and rainy here
Check banks, move some money to CC if I can
    Pay rent early
    Check electric
Sort out the fridge and make sure anything that can be frozen etc will be - use up the rest before we go
    Do some writing
Think about a presentation for that job I've applied for - if I get an interview its going to be next week - so not much time
More vit c and try and get rid of that cold.
CHeck one poll as well - I've not had anything for days either La E
Find my amazon book I've sold and wrap it up for posting tomorrow

Hugs chaps :) I hope you're all good. And, if you're lurking and not posting - hello as well :)

rachel the job's not all you hoped it would be?? xx

Determined - Don't worry -this is only the 4 weeks supply job not the "proper" permanent one starting in Sept (in a nice school)!

The kids are worse than anything I've ever seen before - its a real inner city school with a very deprived catchment area but I think that manners cost nothing! There is the odd pleasant kid but 99% of them are horrid, aggressive, unruly and unteachable really.
Apparently I am the longest lasting supply teacher in the last 2 years and I've only been there a week!:rotfl::rotfl:

Oh well, 3 weeks to go and think of the money!

Glad to hear you had a good holiday - you deserved a break - and well done on the debt reduction:T.

Josie - chin up, I went through the same about 4 years ago (no kids though) and within a year I'd found someone fab (and wasn't looking either) and am now happily married and settled. It will get better - with or without a bloke! Have a hug xxx

No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

re the debt - thank you ALL am so happy but to be fair there have been a couple of things that made it more excellorated than it would have been

    1. £2350 of debt was because I had to buy a car on my ccc after I wrote my last one off in Dec. I was paid out £1450 nd put it straight onto cc
    2. I sold a weeks annual leave and got £400
    3. Payroll realised they'd worked out my Nat Ins wrong for 3 years  nd I got a rebate of nearly £400 for 2009/10. I'm currently waiting for payroll to pull his finger out and work out the rebate I'm due from the Inland Rev for the previous 2 years...

Other than that it has been hard work! Learning to live within my budget, cut down where I can, same as eaveryone else not spending money compulsively! Weird thing is (to echo picasso!) it has changed my outlook completely, now it seems weird to pay for things that I don't have the money for (the banks/cc's money), now it seems a no-brainer that you save for things until you can afford then :o

I'm even trying (as much as is possible) to give up capitalism. Now I realise I can't do that totally as its the system I will in but I can try to come darn close!

[/QUOTE] josiebabe (((hug))) . Its hard , was the same when I split from my oh many years ago. Its painful but your life will be better controlled and eventually less streessful . Offload anytime.[/QUOTE]

Josie I read this article the other day that this woman who had been single for ages decided to live her life as if "her mr right would turn up in 1 year" and she then thought if that was the case what would she want to do before that time. She then started embracing single life and wasn't just looking for a partner. It said alot to me as I had been single for years before meeting my oh. I wish, looking back, that I had embraced singledom xx
