Why thanks littlekel - she's a cellist - so she's going to be playing along side a professional cellist from the Scottish Symphony Orchestra - all the kids are getting the opportunity to have some 'one to one time' - great stuff.
Exciting indeed - she's practised hard - so I'm sure they will all enjoy it.
WHen I said I had to 'wrap my amazon sale' I've just discovered I have to 'find' it first - lol

Thanks for the good wishes for the trip - still haven't left yet though as OH has hit a deer on the way back from Cornwall. Poor thing ran off so he doesn't know what happened to it.:( We had hired a car as ours wouldn't make the journey so he was towed to the nearest branch, given a new car, filled that one up too, drove off and realised that the new car had a major fault! He is now stuck bach there waiting for them to source him yet another car!
Hopefully we will still make it up there but poor OH has had a horrible morning so I doubt he will enjoy it much. And goodness knows how much the deer damage will cost, as even if it is covered by the car hire insurance the excess is huge. Sorry for the rant. I guess the weekend might be spoilt for us but it is probably worse for the deer!
Best wishes for your daughter Fay, you must be so proud x0 -
Hi Lurleene,
Gosh that sounds like a stressful morning
Hope things get better over the weekend.
I know this won't do you any use this time but I hire cars quite a lot and never take their excess cover. Always get it online separately and it reimburses you if your car hire Co charges you IYSWIM. I use www.dailyexcess.com
I've not got v far with my list today! Just back from taxiing OH ...which led to me having a bit of a strop because I KNEW WHERE I WAS GOING and he thought I was wrong and then we went the wrong way! Arghhh! No idea why this annoyed me so much as it only added an extra 2 or 3 minutes onto the journey but that's not the point!! :rotfl:
Right, lunch break over, think I'll start with washing the dishes before the water gets cold.
Happy Saturday everybody!
xx
PS - I would most certainly be in my jammies if it wasn't for my taxi duties! In fact, come to think of it, I'm going to get changed back into them now...Quick, before he calls me back to ask if I can pick him up tonight...Might also have a quick glass of wine just so 'I can't'

Guys I am loving this thread. Is so helpful for me....
I want a DFW treat today so after much deliberation it's going to be a ironing board cover fae PL...It was going to be a mop head but still a little run down so don't think I'm up for the bike ride...(and the mop head is maybe more expensive? Will check when do weekly grocery shop).
No coffee out...but that's life....
Have too much work to do...just need a wee bit of fresh air and a wee treat. Yesterday's treat was a 30p cake slice from the corner shop...
The only reason I'm running out of £ each week right now is due to not getting organised/being sick and not getting the grocery shop done on time  which means I find myself with nothing for lunch. Next week stuff that...it'll be porridge and banana...will have to be..I need to eat CHEAPLY....and get a grip...
Going down is not the crime but staying down
And I got another column of my afghan (barn raising) sewn on this am so am chuffed and encouraged to crochet (been working on it for 6 months cos it's double sized. Normal afghan pattern only takes 3!). It's for my £5 sofa (3 seater) gotten last year from charity shop...
Blessings and thanks for the encouragement re HW guys
Hugs

Afternoon all.
Today I:
* was up bright and early to pack and post ebay sales (had one that needed a huge box and tonnes of bubble wrap). I took some bubble wrap from a parcel that came to work (would only have gone in the bin) and used a box from years ago (I kept them after we moved and have been using them for my ebay stash).
* got FIL's next year's birthday card in the post office (only 10 months early but it was perfect).
*posted RM survey return
* got two books for my pressie stash from a charity shopDebt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -

Evening all !
Had a busy day and not had a chance to post until now.
Not a very good DFW day but an enjoyable one all the same - after all the jobs had been done I took OH out for lunch at a lovely country pub in Cheshire - cost me £30:eek: but we both enjoyed it and I think we needed some "us" time.
My list....- Walked dog for free exercise
- Took dog for haircut - he's now officially almost bald but much cooler
- Done weekly shop and stuck to budget again ( 3rd week in a row!)
- Picked up library book
- Out for lunch but no tea needed as we're both still stuffed
- Bought some treats with weekly shop from Sainsburys basics range that came to £2 rather than going to cinema and shelling out a fortune - just need to find a film to watch now:p
- Done a load of washing and airdried
- Will do another load to dry overnight
- Had a snooze on sofa this afternoon - can't remember the last time I did that!
