I've also:Afternoon all.
Today I:
* was up bright and early to pack and post ebay sales (had one that needed a huge box and tonnes of bubble wrap). I took some bubble wrap from a parcel that came to work (would only have gone in the bin) and used a box from years ago (I kept them after we moved and have been using them for my ebay stash).
* got FIL's next year's birthday card in the post office (only 10 months early but it was perfect).
*posted RM survey return
* got two books for my pressie stash from a charity shop
* been to Mr A and Alidi to get some cheap tissues for my cold and some whoopsie fruit and bits and bobs
* walked to Mr A and Aldi, saving petrol
* special offer on deodorant in Boots - saving money and earning points
* got a christmas pressie in a charity shop - was a brand new puzzle for 9.99. A bit dear but I'm hoping my friend will like it. They had two I could not choose between so I'm wondering whether to ring on Monday and ask them to put the other one by instead so I can swap it.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Hi All
Not posted for ages, used to post daily before my DD was born, however, not has as much access to PC for posting since then. BUT have been reading avidly daily (on my phone - normally when feeding her) so have been following and it has inspired me to stay very focused on these small things even though I have not been posting. Here's my list for this w/e:
Picnic from stores for walk tomorrow with family
Washing on low and line dry
use re-usable nappies
continue to BF DD
HM food for DD for solids rather than jars
update budget for when I return to work - should be better than I thought due to massive reduction in debt since we started this journey
shuffle around some storage, bought cheap new laundry bin for our room and DD now has lovely wooden toybox(old laundry bin in lounge)
keep checking surveys (one poll seem to have all disappeared!)
Need to buy a few bits online but have been through quidco
Filled car with petrol from cheap garage (tank has lasted me about twice as long this time as I have been walking loads in the nice weather - free exercise too!)
Use vouchers in mr T for £8 off and got another £6 spit
Hope you are all having a lovely weekend x0 -
Well this evening I have updated my CV and sent it to a company that runs a walk in centre in town. I don't have the qualifications they want for the post advertised but their website invites speculative CVs.
I haven't worked outside the NHS (apart from occasional agency work ) for over 20 years .
Hope they get in touch, it will be interesting to see what might be on offer.
Think I will spend some time tommorow improving my CV some more. When it rains look for RainbowsWhen its Dark look for Stars0 -

I have reusable menstrual pads too. I made them out of saver face cloths back in feb. Just like folded in at corners to make diamond then like safety pinned to undies (3-4) with pins going outside in (otherwise they scratch). Rinse out in cold water with shampoo then put in laundry. Far cheaper than anything else and far comfier
Once you try these girlies you will NOT go back to disposables.
Got all my jobs done yesterday bar floor wash (cos the mop was dead and they not have any more in PL) and extra ironing (cos was exhausted)
...
Online on Sabbath (woe is me ) so am some point I pray I'm contrite. I think it's more about routines going awol after MI then anything else...
Sabbath in practical terms means :-- No radio (don't have a tv)
- No grocery shopping (unless absolute dire sos)
- No buses (unless needed for ooh medics)
Day for soul
The above practicalities are taken from the OT whereby Sabbath was not just for the israelites but the stranger within their gates. Hence I don't work/try not to do worldy things on Sabbath (of which this is the latter) and try and encourage others to do the same. However Jesus healed the sick on Sabbath and his disciples plucked ears of corn because they were hungry so therefore works of necessity and mercy are okay. It's okay to go to work as a doctor on Sabbath or a policeman. Just not say as a sales assistant.
Practically in DFW terms today is also a day where I pay my tithe. This helps the budget - if I don't do this I suffer (run out of £££) so that's good. I need to rejig budget cos I spent part of it last week on clothes for summer () and sort it when I get paid and pop it through kirk letter box.
Anyhow as per weekday routine breakkie beckons so best go
Hugs

Morning all! Another lovely day here up north!
Already walked the dog for an hour in the park before it gets too hot - his new haircut has made him a "go-faster" dog, its really made a difference, instead of plodding around with his tongue hanging out he's been bounding around like a puppy! Worth the £25:eek: even if he does look a bit like a shorn sheep!
Today is a boring stay at home and get jobs done day.....- Hoover and dust house
- Clean bathrooms
- Walk dog again later for free exercise
- Wash towels and dry on the line
- Do a bit of lesson planning for school from hell this week
- Make sausage casserole for tea
- Tidy up pile of uni stuff and see if there's anything I can ebay/amazon
- Have a look around for anything else ebay-able
- Pop to Asda to try to get some of their bargain sunscreen for hols in 3 weeks:j (For anyone interested they have Ambre Solaire and Nivea sun stuff on offer for £5 each)
- Mend hem on trousers for work
- Update budget for June
- Order currency online from bank for hols
- Phone dad (Fathers day)
- Ask sister if she wants to come and stay during my mammoth summer hols

Morning!
Today my list is:-
- Go to Mr T's with small list
- At same time nip into work and pick up boxes they've saved me
- Try to get packing boxes from DB3's GF
- Finish breaking up pallets in front yard to store for kindling in autumn/winter, pallets were from work so free kindling!
- Stay out of the way while NSOH packs and seperates
- Full scale sort and tidy, may as well
- Sort out half crockery/cutlery for him to take/use. We have a big set as we used to entertain a lot
- Put other half of gammon in slow cooker for dinner
- HW on for short time so can do washing up/cleaning
- Sort thru cleaning products cupboard to see whats actually in there
This is going to be a hard time for me over the next few weeks and as someone said the other day, I am glad to have you lot to offload to!
