When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
:D
Hello everyone - no, i wasn't really quick enough to start the thread - read Jo's post below and you'll see what happened!!:rotfl:
My lists are my own though - so far I have:

Hello everyone - no, i wasn't really quick enough to start the thread - read Jo's post below and you'll see what happened!!:rotfl:
My lists are my own though - so far I have:
- washing done overnight on Economy 7 electricity and hung outside to dry
- dishwasher started before the electricity went on to day rate
- fed and watered chickens
- checked banking
- checked surveys
- tidied and cleaned kitchen
- buy chicken food and corn using my discount card and the money earned from selling eggs - eventually I want them to be "cost neutral"
- clean out the chicken coop and run in exchange for some eggies
- keep checking for surveys
- go to allotment and pick some organic strawberries:)
- make marmalade from woopsied grapefruit bought last week
- complete another corset
- go into work to sort out and re-arrange my office. Not strictly DFW I know, but if my working environment is clean, tidy and efficient I'm more likely to stick the job out. I really can't work in a disorganised space where I can't even sit at the desk straight
- clean and tidy the living room, utility room and hall
- clean and tidy bedroom and strip and remake the bed
Making magic with fabric

Hi everyone - thanks Josie for starting the thread - should I remove your Mum's 'thanks' do you think?:D
I am on the horns of a dilemma - I have been offered the job I interviewed for the other day, but don't know if I can afford to take it as I would have to fork out for childcare. I don't have to at the moment except for the school holidays. I have to let them know on Monday morning. so I think I will have to mull it over with OH this weekend. Oh, what to do?
We have a very exciting but DFW weekend planned to celebrate the kids' birthdays which were last week. _party_We are off to Windsor for the weekend, visiting the castle today and Legoland tomorrow. First we have to wait for poor OH who is driving up from Cornwall this morning, as he went there yesterday for his Dad's 60th birthday. Poor thing will be knackered later!
DFW things for the weekend:
1) I have bagged 4 tickets for a Karate Kid scereening next week, thanks to quoia on the freebies board.
2) We are staying in a £29 room at a Premier Inn tonight, much nicer than the usual Travelodge.
3) We are eating at Pizza Express tonight using cashed in Tesco Clubcard points. ( I saw a man in Tesco the other day using his CC vouchers to pay for his shopping - I wanted to scream at him to stop!)
4) We will activate our Merlin Passes tomorrow when we go to Legoland. I bought these in the New Year when they were only £75 each and we will get free entry to all Merlin attractions for a whole year starting tomorrow. I have cannily waited til just after T's birthday to activate them so that they will still be valid for his birthday next year!
5) Did SC, checked banking and Quidco etc
Right, off to do some houseworky bits and get ready to leave for when OH gets here. Have a fabulous weekend and I hope the sun is shining wherever you are.

Quiet on here today!!!
LOL at it being July already!!! Been May and july this week!
:D:D
Made a tomato and parmesan loaf of bread last night. OMG is tastes gorgeous. It was just a 500g pack of flavoured bread mix. It was 75p and makes a 2lb loaf. All you need to add is water as all the yeast etc is in the mix. A normal loaf costs us 30p to make but this is nice for a treat!
Right today
DD1 to ballet and tap - walk to the village
Lunch from stores
changed mealplan to be jackets tonight to use up potatoes!!
DD's to a friends birthday - no dinner for them at home
sort paperwork on the dining table
make Grandad fathers day cards with the kids
wrap up presents for tomorrow
have a relaxing evening if poss!
Thats me!!
Lurlene - have a great trip. We did a windsor and legoland trip and loved it! - i also want to scream at people using their tesco vouchers to pay for their shopping!!!!!!!!
Fay - i hope you enjoy the concert tonight - how exciting!
La E - tidying is DFW
Keeps you from spending, makes you feel more organised and so therefore in a better position to be DFW! :A Orange Fairy
