A query...

Hi all,
I often read the threads on here, just to try and understand the CSA... I'm a NRP, to two boys and am paying through the CSA 20% of my wages!!! Have only been part of this elite group since april!!! (When the changes for benefits and maintainence happened.... Coincidence!!!!!)
I just have a question, which isn't important, but has been niggling for sometime!!!
My ex claims she phoned the CSA on a wednesday!! She doesn't have my mobile number, (if I gave it to her I wouldn't get a minutes peace, she can contact me through my mother, and I would phone her back) and she doesn't have my address, as OH and I live with OH mother's and she doesn't want ex knowing address!!! But as I was saying she claims to have contacted the CSA on a wednesday, and on the friday I recieved a phonecall from the CSA, thus making it the first contact!!! I would also like to add, it was I who then told the CSA who I worked for, and then they contacted my employer, so I know they didn't find me through work!! Only possible explanantion was they found me through my NI number!! Which ex would have known...
Now reading all other posts This seems very very quick!!! Is she spinning me a yarn, or would the CSA have found me that quick!!!???
Thanks for your time, and any reply will be appriciated... It would just clarify if I'm being spun a yarn by my ex...

The first port of call they use is NI number and then if no joy a trace is put on the case so if she knows your NI number then it's quite possible they traced you from that.

Super speedy contact though by anyones standards - never mind the snail CSA!!!!:eek:

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Beware, I've had the unpleasant experience of dealing with CSA for 16 years now, and have NEVER known them be this quick to respond on anything, your case would just be in a massive unforgiving pile of other cases.

Be very cautious, I suspect that whilst CSA would track you via NI, your ex may now step up the pace and maye a new mobile may be in order????? Also think about council tax and electoral roll, ask for your details for electoral roll not to be available to public etc etc.

No wonder so many newcomers have the fear of good instilled into them after reading here...shockingly (I know, hard to believe) not everyone has a crap ex

Looopy, have you read our other threads? Know what you are saying , but if this NRP is living at OH mothers, won't give PWC contact no, PWC has to ring mother then NRP rings PWC back, there's something strange in the situation! All we saying is, whilst we hope many on here have amicable or semi-amicable arrangements for the children's sake, there are the likes of Blonde Bint and others,as well as ourselves who have a terrible time with PWC.

I am also a PWC and NRPP so can see from both angles, believe me, I 'm on your side, but our PWC has been unbelieveable, and just advising a new CSA virgin err on the side of caution, cover all bases, and watch their back, as we all know audits have proven the % of incorrect assessments is very high, and the enforcement action of mnay of these assessments is scary to say least, not protecting those who do not pay, as all NRP should contribute, just on about inefficiencies/failings to both parties of the CSA

I agree with you bdt1-there is something very strange about this set up, the NRP wants to avoid all contact with the mother of his children. The OP hasn't said he is avoiding his ex for the same reasons you and blondebint experienced, he simply doesn't want her able to call him (or he'd 'get no peace')

As a parent, I would want to ensure that I would be the first person called in the event of an emergency, so how would the OP find out about possible accidents or emergencies to his children if he makes himself unavailable to the carer of his children, could the threat of 'no peace' be that serious?

I have to query the OP who seems to have an issue with paying 20% of their income. Do you think thats too little? Too much? Just curious, as you put several !!!! after your statement about how much you pay.

I don't know how the CSA managed to act so quick from the time the PWC contacted them, but I take my hat off to the CSA! That means that 2 children will be supported quicker. Isn't that what its all about.

relationships end all the time, but in the best interest of the child, surely those of us who put our children first and want to be great parents should still be available/accessable/involved in the childrens lives when given the opportunity to do so - (there are unfortunately situations such as bdt1 and bb where this isn't always possible, but I do hope these are the minority).

that's the thing PHB.

bdt's oh's ex is NOT in a minority. it's just all the "wimmin" refuse to remove the blinkers and see what is happening out there in the real world.

we all have carppy exes, but the key thing to remember is that the "PWC" holds all the aces when it comes to contact and more often than not, that control card is used to good effect. that is why more and more nrp's are having to head to court.

nrp's who don't pay or have no input are scum, but life goes on as normal for the child and pwc. and the more than generous welfare state prevents any REAL poverty.

but when you're on the end of a maliscious, perhaps jealous ex, then the NRP is in for a rough time.

until you've had to stand up and fight just for the "priviledge" to be able to see your child/ren, then you cant comment on the effects it has on us and our partners.

in which case, for some i guess, ignorance is indeed, bliss.
