Slim Sanitary Towels For Daughter
Comments

In my local independent chemist I noticed panty pads in a big cerise box with a cartoon girl on the front called 'ultra teen', so especially for teen girls

My dd (13 at the time, v tall & skinny) took one look at them and said "I'm not wearing one of those between my legs" - went straight to tampons.0

I too went straight to tampons, much better!0

My daughter can only use one hand and the sticky on some of the towels make them difficult to pull off. Let me know if you use a range with 'not much sticky' on the backing - it has to have wings though :rotfl:
Can I suggest maybe trying Tampax Compaq (Or an own brand version replica but I dont know how good they are). The applicators are made from plastic so have a stronger structure than traditional tampax. They are also quite short so you could probably use one hand to pull them open IYSWIM and use them.
Sorry if that was too much information

Aldi ones are very good. Very slim, they also do the g-string ones too. Also for the poster who was asking, not too much sticky like some have, but alas no wings.
Personally I find the slim ones uncomfortable and itchy, (I think its all those chemicals) I wear the thick padded ones at night purely because I find them more comfy, but couldnt wear them during the day. (I have to wear towels as a tampon on its own is not enough - sorry if its too much info) Aldi sell tampons, the thick towels and liners too. Sorry cant find a receipt with any prices on though.
Personally I think girls now have it so much better, I'm 36 and when I was at school all the towels were bulky - uncomfortable and embarrassing. Also they didnt come folded up in little bags either, I was always looking for ways to disguise them. I dont care any more, I was searching through my handbag for some wet wipes for my daughters sticky face the other day and found myself walking along clutching a sanitary towel for ages before realizing what it was! Hadnt noticed the funny looks I was getting.0 -

Thanks.
Not too much info.
I used to use tampax compak. Might wait until she's had a few more periods and then see how she feels about trying them.
She's only had 2 in 4 months. They are a lot heavier than I was expecting them to be for someone so small!!Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
I like the Lidl ones - very comfortable.
Lil-lets are doing a free applicator and tampons - might be worth having those, although obviously the mini ones are the best to try the first few times.0 -
hi
dont know if things have changed since the dark ages when my periods invaded my life but i was always told that for at least the first year tampons were a no-no not sure why but.......might be worth checking with nurse at g.p's find the latest thinking
p.s not sure this is quite the right thing to do but.....was talking to friends bout this the other day and one chirps up yeah i do that send off for the freebies for my daughter as shes heavy each month i use every relatives address i can think of including...... granny whos periods stopped over 30 years ago lol just shows how these companies dont check what they send and to who0 -

have you tried those g-string ones that are designed to be worn with a g-string or thong??? i use these (althought only for the lighter days) but you cant even feel its there. bit pricier than normal ones but well worth it for the comfort.
I use these and they're fab. Will never use anything else. I'd recommend them to all!!Murphy's No More Pies Club Member No. 680 -
I would also recommend emailing companies for freebie samples then she can try without it costing you a fortune. One day I might be more organised...........
