Talk Talk harrassing debt collection calls and sanctions despite not being owed any

Somehow they have messed up my account big time. They have sent it to arrears department despite us not owing anything. The arrears department refuse to look at the account saying pay this money NOW. We have gone through to customer service who say how sorry they are. Yet the calls are still coming 10/15 times a day. Now they have cut off the e-mails and broardband will be gone within the next 24 hrs.

Phoned tech support who while being very supportive can't do anything till the arrears department phone in the morning as their system wont let them take the block off. Better still it will take 48hrs to reactivate the account and they are sending negative credit reports.

However I have no faith in the arrears department doing anything so we could go weeks without a service.

  • Hi
I didn't want to read and run.
I can't really help you except to say that you could try posting this on the "phones, web and tv" board as someone there might be more knowledgeable.
Hope someone can give you some advice soon.

Utterly useless. Conversation went pay us money you don't owe now, we will reactivate your account and credit you so you have no payment to make in July. WTH I owe nothing yet they want me to pay for their mess and wait for them to give me the money back at a later date.

pm the TalkTalk Company Representative who is on these boards and they might be able to get this moved forward for you.

i would also suggest whilst you are at it to find out how long you actually have left on your contract and what notice you have to give to maybe look into another provider if this cant get sorted to your satisfaction

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

Whilst I don't have any specific advise about the situation you're in I would agree with the previous post about seeing how quickly you can get out of your contract with them. Talk Talk actually had me on tears on the phone with them, they are so useless at communicating between their departments and I got soooo frustrated with them. I'm not an emotional person but I just couldn't get them to talk (talk) to each other to resolve my problem. If you are getting frustrated it might be worth going to see your local Citizen's Advice Bureau, they might be able to call on your behalf and it's amazing how quickly things get sorted out at that point.

Company reps can no longer send or receive PMs here. :(

I've noticed that the TalkTalk rep always asks that you register and post here www.talktalkmembers.com/forums when they need to deal with an individual case, so seems that would be the way to contact them.

This is insane they now want two months extra payments which they will credit back for July and August. The e-mails will take days to be switched back on. Spending a fortune on phone calls all for the sake of £10 I don't owe.

I have advised so many people over the years to not let DCA force them to pay debts they don't owe. Now I can see how it can be cheaper just to pay and why companies get away with it. As I said they now want £20 and I have no faith I will ever see it again.

Years ago this would have been enough to push us further into debt and despair as no way would we have had the spare money. Now it just makes my blood boil, I have taken on DCA who we did owe thousands to and not felt as helpless or annoyed as I do now.
