BT for phone, £13 per month gets us free calls to landlines and "local rate" (eg, 0845) 24/7, 5p per minute to mobiles, and 2p per minute to EU countries.tinktinktinkerbell wrote: »what deals do you get IE free calls etc

The service is advertised as "up to" 20Mbit, I get 17Mbit down and 1.9Mbit uptinktinktinkerbell wrote: »what speed do you get?

Can I ask, please, do they check how much you use your PAYG?C_Mababejive wrote: »O2 LLU product upto 8mb £7.50 a month as i have a PAYG mob tel with them. Excellent company, excellent product, excellent service....
I'm thinking of switching to O2 as they seem to have a good rep. for customer service, but I hardly use my O2 PAYG - just for emergencies.0 -
We pay 30 quid a month for calls/line rental/broadband all in with BT. The issues for us is because the exchange is bundled (hope thats the correct term) so we can't go with Sky etc, and the speed rarely tops 1 Meg. Doubt anyone will be getting speeds a lot slower than that!
I recently moved into the centre of town (Edinburgh). Decided to keep things simple by having tv, line rental and internet with the same company. We are with Sky on their Unlimited service where you can get up to 20Mb download speeds. Unfortunately we only get 2Mb!!!
I'm not sure if this is an issue with the our line, distance from the exchange or if Sky just aren't that good...0 -

BT Option 3 for £26.99 a month, being upgraded to BT Infinity next week for the same cost.
I'm a home worker, my company contributes to broadband cost and because I run a VoIP extension and VPN to my work, I need the best possible connection from a speed and stability perspective.
Over a period of 18 months it took a while for it to all settle down but for two years now I've had trouble free broadband service from them and pleased with it (although some side issues BT Vision and BT Mobile).
I don't agree in paying for TV with advertising in it (either give it to me free with advertising or make it ad free and charge me), therefore on principle I won't go near Sky or Virgin where their broadband is bundled in with TV services.
Before I went to BT in 2005, I had a year of hell with TalkTalk and based on my experiences from then, will never go near them again.0 -
AOL(have been for years) £9.99 month just b/band not phone,upto 2meg speed(its does me)and unlimited usage.0

I use a 3 dongle, mainly because I rent and move every 6 or 12 months, saves having to pay line install / connection fees etc all the time.
It suits my quite modest needs well, 15gb limit for £11 something after cashback, 2mb speeds all day everyday (faster than most normal broadband around here)
For calls I use a mix of voip and my mobile, all together it costs around £25 a month0 -
O2 LLU upto 8mb, I actually connect at just over 8 so I'm certainly getting my money's worth, now entering my third 12 month contract with them, the longest I've ever stayed with an ISP, says it all really...0

Yes they do have a monitoring system to check PAYG topups though i have a feeling they dont enforce it rigorously. The important thing is that you have o2 LLU availability at your exchange...check samknows. If its O2 /BT wholesale then it isnt as good.Craftyscholar wrote: »Can I ask, please, do they check how much you use your PAYG?

Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
Thanks, it looks as if O2 LLU isn't available at my exchange so I might as well stay as I am and check again next year when my AOL contract runs out.C_Mababejive wrote: »Yes they do have a monitoring system to check PAYG topups though i have a feeling they dont enforce it rigorously.
