Hi everyone
Looking for your thoughts and advice, at the end of last week I meal planned through to the end of the first week of August wanting to use stuff up before and after our holiday mid July. I planned meals for each day as you do and have found that over the past few days what I planned last week has been wrong for the weather, it's either been too hot to have the oven on or we haven't felt like one of the meals as it's too heavy when the weather is hot to eat cottage pie or beef curry and we're wanting cold or lighter things.
My solution so far has been to print off the whole list from now until August and instead of having x on Monday and y or Tuesday I'm making what we fancy from another week and crossing each eaten meal off the list. Stuff is still getting used up and I realise at some point we'll be forced to eat what's left on the menu, but maybe I can adapt the main ingredient i.e. chicken or salmon to something lighter if that's what we fancy.
Has anyone else found any problems with being this flexible with their meal plans? It seems to be working so far for me, but I've never planned this far in advance and had so many meals to 'play' with and I'm worried it'll all go pear shaped.

Hi all,
Good luck with your op Freaky
Congrats on wedding and hope you had a fab honeymoon Miscousinitt:T
Herbaholic - I meal plan for a month and make up and freeze batches of food which I alternate throughout the month. I also buy items marked down from supermarkets if I happen to go in and add these to my mealplans as I don't meal plan for weekends as dd is always out and about. I don't always follow the weekly/monthly plan each day but at the end of the month we have generally eaten everything that was on the plan. I don't think it matters if you don't stick to each day as long as you try to eat everything you planned for during the month. There will always be exceptions.
My meal plans for this week were/are:
Monday - Fishcakes, chips and beans
Tuesday - nutroast, leeks, potatoes and gravy
Wednesday - quiche, salad and potato wedges
Thursday - omelette, chips and beans
Friday - quorn burgers in a bun with salad and wedges0
