I did pretty much the same as you, Fahim - I started out six months ago with my HSBC mastercard at 18.9% APR with a £250 limit... had the limit raised to £500, then to £1500 last month, and bartered the APR down yesterday from 18.9 to 15.9%
It's better than nothing, and now I don't have to apply for a student Barclaycard and preserve my credit file!0 -
I did the same, started with £250 @ 18.9%, then after 6 month had it increased to £1250, then again in july, increased it to £2250 and lowered the APR down to 15.9%.
Just applied for a Halifax One 9.9%, lets see what limit i can get...01. Marriott Rewards VISA (£2700 @ 17.9%)
02. HSBC MasterCard (£2250 @ 14.9%)
03. HALIFAX One MasterCard (£2200 @ 12.9%)
04. Monument VISA (£1000 @ 19.9%)
05. Aqua MasterCard (£500 @ 29.9%)0 -
Hi... i dont know if this helps, but apparently Sainsburys are doing a card now which is 5.9% for the life of the balance transfer - not a bad rate if you want to transfer alot of money.
Virgin Credit card upped my interest to a massive 24.9%!!!!!!!! i rang them and they lowered it back down - its shocking how they can justify that much money!!
Hope this helps :beer:Joined September 2006: £18800.00 in debt:eek:

02. HSBC MasterCard (£2250 @ 14.9%)
03. HALIFAX One MasterCard (£2200 @ 12.9%)

I really want to do this as my Visa with the Halifax has now hit 22.9%, it's been live for 3-4 years. BUT, I wouldn't know what to say! If I cancel the card won't they expect me to have the 7k to pay there and then??

This rate isn't for cash. I have 9.95% for purchases and 6.95% for balance transfers on my card. The cash rate is 21.95%.0 -
CARD: Barclaycard Platinum
APR REQUEST DECLINED/APPROVED: Approved
FROM WHAT % TO WHAT %:
19.9% down to 12.9%
I received a letter from them saying I'd been upgraded to a Platinum card (from a Gold) and it included a couple of BT offers (a 0% for 6 months which I'll definitely be using), however my APR remained at the same rate. I emailed them saying why bother upgrading me if there's no benefits? I also told them that I had an Egg card that was 14.9%, however I'd be more inclined to use the Barclaycard if they offered me a decent rate.
Had a phone call about 4 days later offering me 12.9% so I was happy with that.0
