strange buying frenzy

With the threads over the past few days I am beginning to think collection might not be the 'easy' option any more.

I ended up taking all my heavy or akward items to a car boot sale yesterday just to save me the hassle.

Same here! I've never particularly enjoyed collection but the last few I've had have been pretty bad - not as bad as some of the stories on here but just getting messed about, people not turning up when they say, or people like the one above... if I could drive I'd just car boot my stuff too - I can't even take anything to the tip because I don't have a car so if I don't sell it I'm stuck with it!

The funniest thing yesterday was an extremely large glass fronted pop art print that I was selling from a failed business idea (they don't call me del boy for nothing!). Another seller kept admiring it and I was so desperate to get rid of it that while they ummed and ahhed about whether it would fit in their car I had my son pick it up, carry it to their car and demonstrate how it would just about fit in and still be safe to drive. Once it was sitting in their car they really couldn't say no.
