When free postage isn't free postage!

I think we all know that p&p costs on ebay are of dubious estimates, as my other half is a seller and she often under estimates the postage costs which she has to absorb. just think you shouldnt pay the extra or ask to cancel the transaction.
Dubious estimates are not necessary - calculate what it will cost before you put it up for sale.
I think your friend needs to consider whether she is selling as a hobby to fill her spare time or wanting to make a profit.0 -
I'm puzzled by the bit "hi sorry the postage will cost a bit more than I thought I've added 60p on". If the P&P was listed as being free originally then how can it suddenly "cost a bit more than I thought"? I don't recall RM or anyone else ever offering a free delivery service. Makes no sense. Stupid ebayers. :rolleyes:0 -
Just to keep you all updated - no response from the seller yet - I'll let you know if it arrives!0

Has the seller posted it yet??Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Just to keep you updated -
The listing said the item would be posted within 5 working days of the auction end, on the 5th working day I just dropped the seller an email to ask if it had indeed been sent and she/he said it had.
It eventually turned up in a brown paper envelope with a 2nd class stamp on (listing said free 1st class).
Marked down on the stars but at least it turned up!0 -
When people say it is "only" 60p I still think in old money, and that 60p is 12 shillings,0

is it possible to check if it was an experienced ebayer? if so then they were being cheeky, if it was first time selling then probably a genuine mistake0
