Day off today and started off well but seem to be flagging a bit now:mad:
Have got done:
Half of weekly housework blitz
Deep clean of living room - nets washed and out drying:j
Sofas cleaned and fed:j
Got my hair coloured on Sunday- so am all perky and autumnal.
Babysitting tonight so a few more £'s to hopefully squirrel away.
Went to my first parish counci lmeeting last night (part of my knowledge and learning plan) - it was certainly an interesting experience. Some of the things discussed were very useful but others made me really wonder about our local resources and how they are used. Will definately go to the next one though because I feel we can't criticise our local area unless we are prepared to do somehting ourselves.
The reason we went was to request a salt bin at the top of our road and amazingly enough they were on the agenda and were agreed - so hopefully will be in situ before our road becomes unsafe to use:j
Right off to call on an elderly neighbour and then hopefully will have my mojo back and can finish housework.Debt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942

Got weekly housework blitz done, just another pile of ironing left now.
Got 2 weeks of menu plans still to do but am struggling for inspiration. OH is a meat and 2 veg(if I must) man. Can't make many vegetarian dishes as he wouldn't eat them, also can't bulk out with pulses as again he won't eat them Feeding him and trying to reduce the grocery budget is definately a challenge.
With babysitting and doing BIL's cleaning today I have earnt an extra £40 this week so that's squirreled away towards Christmas.:j
Love internet banking - I can check my accounts anytime and have online savings accounts. I get such a thrill swapping bits around:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:At the end of every week I round down my current account to the nearest pound and transfer it to my savings one.
MSE is far too addicitve!:rotfl:Debt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942

Well Done Robsmum hun...You're doing really really well!!
I'm a bit like you too....I don't earn much extra but when I DO, I LOVE LOVE LOVE logging onto my Online Banking and seeing the figures go up (and sometimes down!!) on all my different Savings Pots....
Hmmm, not sure what to suggest when it comes to Food....but here are a couple of suggestions:
1) Spaghetti Bolegnase - I know it's the old traditional but it's hearty and still has meat...and you can do it quite cheaply with frozen minced beef, tinned mushrooms, a couple of onions and some chopped tomatoes instead of sauce...
2) Homemade Burgers - VERY easy to make. Just get some Minced Beef and an egg and make burger patties...and if you don't want to buy or use Burger Rolls you can use two great big Portobello Mushrooms instead...it tastes brilliant.
3) Pasta with Meatballs
Hope that helps a little and gives you a few extra Idea's....I know what you mean about men being fussy - My Ex used to be a "very simple food" sort of Guy and wouldn't let me try ANYTHING unusual!!
Stick with it hun...You're doing brilliantly!! :T :T :T0 -
Hi RM! Well done you on your extra £40 earnt! I wish I had a way of earning extra via babysitting etc- but I don't know anyone with kids! Ah well, back to the drawing board

Hi Helen and Laura- thank you for popping in.
Helen: thanks for the meal ideas, funnily enough I can feed OH pasta and varieties of mince!:jMushrooms though are a definate no-no:mad:He doesn't eat any root veg, mushrooms, dried fruit, fresh fruit or anything with any hint of fat. It's worse than feeding a child!
Did manage to compile 2 weeks menus and thought I'd make a veggie hot pot type thing- not sue what will be in it yet but he'll eat chilli type beans so thought I'd get creative:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Put draught excluder round our front door yesterday to try to cut down the howling gale - result couldn't close the door!
Had to remove 1 lot and maybe even the other side will have to come off. An abortive MSE effort.

Day off again today- the weeks are just flying past.
This weeks plans:
Weekly housework blitz-done
Deep clean bedrooms-done
Sand and repaint windowsill
Plant bulbs in greenhouse
Make a pyjama case
Check Christmas decorations:j-done
Seem to be doing quite well on getting things done at the moment and trying to keep MSE.
The draught excluder(1 side) is still on the door an as long as we don't quite slam it it will shut:eek: so for the moment it remains.
Got the 2nd bunting finished so that's the little girls Christmas presents done. I have enough bits of fabric left over so am going to try and make pyjama cases also - from a pattern in a magazine.Testing my technical ability somewhat in trying to enlarge it:eek:Spent all Sunday morning playing with it for OH to take 5 minutes and it was done.
Had a good MSE experience at weekend had printed off my garden centre vouchers and had to buy compost - bought 75 liters for £5.99 and got a free garden leaf rake worth £6.00:jthat's the sort of shopping I like.
Looked online for Hawkins Bazzar for the 2 stocking toys and their postage was:eek:then looked elsewhere and found a site selling exactly what I wanted with postage that was much more reasonable:j
Bought a mssive joint of pork in Sainsbury's which was reduduced by 25percent, cut it into 2 and we have lots of meat/meals in freezer.
OH does a £1 bet with a colleague on football and they won £230.00 each:jI also won £5.00 on a scratch card:j
Off to make a start.Debt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942
