The money is paid to the mother as she has recently started leaving the girl with gran due to her working hours. The gran doesnt work to can take her to school etc.0

I think I have got the wrong end of the stick a bit too, I thought the child lived with the gran.
Doesn't change any of the other frauds the ex is committing though!!0 -
Ok, ok, no need to get narky about it.

OP, you can use entitledto.com it goes through everything that is used to calculate your benefits.

Before you go reporting anybody for fraud please make sure you have 100% of the facts .
In one post you say that the mother sub lets her council house and stays at her boyfriends, whilst DSD stays at Gran's.
Sorry to sound like I'm having ago,but A close family member had her benefits stopped because somebody reported her for all sorts of stuff - the only problem being that it was all based on assumptions and hear say.
Ok it got sorted in the end,but it caused alot of needless stress and left somebody nearly losing her home and relying on Prozac.0 -
And i never came on this site with the intention of reporting her just what to do about the maintenance payments!!!! Can see my dh point about not getting involved but it was not the way i was brought up.0

According to the dwp website, having your benefits stopped is one of the available punishments, after an investigation has been carried out.
If the person has done nothing wrong, nothing will happen.
Investigations will only be carried out if the dwp judge that there is reasonable grounds for them to launch an investigation. I have seen that they do this very quickly, and most of the work is done behind the scenes, whilst the person is still receiving benefits.
They probably don't even know an investigation has taken place, until the dwp turn up where they are working (cih), or turn up at the address they are supposed to be living at.0 -

The OP doesn't appear to even know where her step daughter lives - so I very much doubt that she would actually know anything about the mothers benefits claim.
As a Tax payer,I feel it would be a complete waste of public Money to investigate somebody who is reported by a person who obviously has no knowledge of the facts.0 -

IF the OP decides to report this person, it is the DWP that decide whether the information provided warrants further investigation, thankfully.
As a tax payer also, I think it would be in the public interest to investigate what appears to be a series of benefit frauds.
It wouldn't exactly take bundles of tax payers cash to ring up one of the adverts for the business the ex has been using, or do a quick check on the home address of the ex.0 -
You are right, as her stepmum i only find out where she is when i get told where to pick her up from, which is either from her grans, the boyfriends or her school. I know about her benefits claim and her subletting as she was stupid enough to tell me.Thats when all this kicked off.But if she is telling me, who else has she told??Think that im going to go with my husbands wishes and let her land herself in the sh*te. Then she cant blame anyone but herself and will save arguments in my household!!!!!0
